Just got off the Silhouette but could not find any of the kids club info from our cruise. Here is what I found online (it looked correct to me):
Ship Mates (ages 3-5)
Cadets (ages 6-8)
Ensigns (ages 9-11)
Admiral T's (ages 12-17 During regular season / 12-14 & 15-17 during peak season)

SHIP: Equinox
CABIN #: 9147
DECK #: 9
CLASS: Veranda
AREA: Forward Port Side
BED NEAR: Bathroom
QUIET?: See comments
BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed
BALCONY SIZE: Normal
WIND A PROBLEM?: No
SOOT A PROBLEM?: No
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This room is right outside the elevator area so if people are around the elevators noise can be an issue and also bright lights in case you are trying to sneak out early in the morning. Also, it did not seem like the balcony door was sealing fully so noise from outside was present even if the balcony door was closed and locked. Finally, this is a connecting room where the door opens inwards which can be an issue if the bathroom door is not fully closed.

A free cruise does not count for points.
I have received points on all my free cruises offered through the Blue Chip club. Maybe I'm just lucky then.
-
Was this a free cruise received as a prize or through the BlueChip club? I can say for sure free cruises through the BlueChip club count towards status.
-
Just figure out what cruise(s) you would be interested in and give them a call and ask what they can do for you.
I haven't received an email from them in over 6 months (and they haven't returned any of my emails).

Erdal - Assistant Dining Room Manager on the Equinox. Such a nice guy!

From memory (so don't hold it against me if I'm wrong):
- 2x $5 casino table game match play coupons
- Free pressing of 2 items
- Free 3x card at bingo
- 10% off any picture package (not individual photos)
- Wine bottle discount (10%?)
- Complimentary specialty coffee drink at specialty restaurant
- Spa discount (10%?) - not valid with discounted "in-port" prices I was told
- Internet discount (15%?) (applied automatically so coupon not needed)
- Free scoop of gelato
- 2x $5 casino table game match play coupons

Q: Can friends come onboard to see me off or visit me while in a port of call?A: For security reasons, guests are not allowed to bring visitors on board ships in any ports.

I presume they haven't removed the splash pad?
(Was disappointed they didn't have it on the Silhouette)
-
Are they any good?
Can't help you on that. I either forget to eat them or fall asleep on them!! :D
-
Did the chocolates come back yet? I thought the new President said they were going to do that again, but I have not heard or read anything about it?
Yes..they're back (at least on the Silhouette)
-
Yes they will - just let them know.
-
We were on the same cruise as well - lots of families and children (very few college age kids) - were told 300 by the kids club staff. Didn't cause us any issues or impact our cruise much at all.
I do agree with the earlier comment about the chair hogs - not a single chair (no exaggeration) to be found on the last sea day!!
-
Is this a new program called "One touch" familiar to anyone else?
I have been in contact with them.
Purchased OBC hoping to get the good Canadian exchange rate but as my cruise was booked in USD was charged USD on my CC. They promised to get me the OBC at the posted Canadian rate but it went nowhere - ended up ignoring my emails - not very impressed at all!

SHIP: Silhouette
CABIN #: 1407
DECK #: 10
CLASS: Concierge (C1)
AREA: Aft
BED NEAR: Bath
QUIET?: Very quiet
BALCONY VIEW: Perfect view out the back - no view to either side
BALCONY SIZE: Normal veranda size
WIND A PROBLEM?: No
SOOT A PROBLEM?: Yes (balcony had to be cleaned daily and any items left out had to be brushed off)
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: As there is no overhang the balcony will get the full sun. Also, being a normal sized balcony, with the concierge class footstools, space is quite limited.

This topic is about bringing kids on longer cruises. Those who drag their kids have always said, if you dont want to see children , go on longer cruises, avoid school vacations, etc.
We do all that. So when I saw that topic, I thought wait a minute, there goes our opportunity to travel on an almost kid free cruise. Yes even one kid is too many, when that kid is jumping into the pool, splashing everyone and the parent tells you that they paid the same as you did and will do as they wish.
So I am not at all happy to see ANY topics that have people asking questions about bringing their children on board .
When it is not holiday time and the cruise is a lengthy one with a port intensive itinerary, you betcha many of us will be giving these parents a dirty look as they drag their kids to all those places that children are just craving to see.
As for all the children just loving the nothingness of Celebrity, how many of them have been on Disney and have said, oh that is boring, I prefer Celebrity and if they have said that , I would begin to worry.
Sounds like you might want to consider renting a private yacht where you can better control who else is on board.

You and your child have just as much right to cruise as the uppity crowd who think kids should be at home. We've always cruised with our kids and have never had anyone actually say anything. I've had an old doll sneer at us, but I just laughed at her and felt sorry for her husband. Most people love to see kids having fun and enjoying themselves.
We just came back from a Celebrity back to back 4/5 night cruise in January/Feb and there were 30 kids on the first sailing and 75 on the second. You just never know. I am sure there will be at least a few on your sailing. Our kids club staff were really great - regardless of how many kids were in the club at any one time.
+1 to this.

I am looking at sailing one of the 10-day Equinox Caribbean cruises Jan 2016 and am considering taking my child, who will have just turned 5.
We have taken our daughter on a number of Celebrity 10 day cruises and there has always been at least a few others in her age group. Having fewer kids on board is a bonus - more one on one attention from the kids club staff which she loved.

Who you book with doesn't matter. It all depends on what currency your cruise is booked in. I'm booked with a US agent but my booking is in Canadian.
That's why I said booked in USD :)
-
$25 USD.
Keep in mind if you booked through a US travel agent and booked your cruise in USD you will be charged USD so you won't get this great rate.

Interesting (but old) post on the topic:

My room is 2110 on Solstice so:
Am I right in thinking that it has a larger balcony?
Am I also right in saying that the divider between rooms cannot be opened up?
Many thanks for all your comments
Here is a link to pic from the Equinox and I would think Solstice would be similar.
