  1. Last time we went the taxi driver said he would just wait for us. I told him no, that's OK, we'd be a couple of hours, but he asked again. l asked was he going to charge me for waiting. He said no, and he didn't. We just took the usual photos of planes, had lunch and headed back. The beach itself is not that great, steep and the sand blows everywhere when the planes come over, but it's a fun day.,

I'm not too fussed about the beach anyway, I'm more excited to see the planes landing ;p That was good that the taxi driver offered to wait on you and even better that he said he wouldn't charge any extra.

  2. We were there last week. We always just take a taxi. It was $40 one way for 5. You pay for the round trip at the port, they give you a wristband and you just grab any available one when you leave. The beach was packed!

We were at the Sunset Bar and Grill by 9:45am, stayed until about 2:15. It was about a 30 minute ride though it can be longer in the winter when there are a lot more ships and people in port.

The bigger planes (Jet Blue, Air France, Delta) arrived between 1 and 2 pm, some smaller ones almost every 20 minutes or so between 10 and 1.

We have done this a number of times and find it very easy.

My only concern would be getting a taxi there & not being able to get back & no taxis ! But from what I'm reading there appears to be loads of taxis going from the port to Maho & back again all day.

Scared of missing the ship lol so that's why I'd thought about the ship excursion !

Thanks for all the replies folks, Lorna 😊
