We took the water taxi from the pier, over to town, wandered around the shops then got a taxi to Maho beach $20, takes about 20minutes. Lunch and drinks at the Sunset Bar and grill.:D
That sounds like a good idea :D

We were there last week. We always just take a taxi. It was $40 one way for 5. You pay for the round trip at the port, they give you a wristband and you just grab any available one when you leave. The beach was packed!
We were at the Sunset Bar and Grill by 9:45am, stayed until about 2:15. It was about a 30 minute ride though it can be longer in the winter when there are a lot more ships and people in port.
The bigger planes (Jet Blue, Air France, Delta) arrived between 1 and 2 pm, some smaller ones almost every 20 minutes or so between 10 and 1.
We have done this a number of times and find it very easy.

My only concern would be getting a taxi there & not being able to get back & no taxis ! But from what I'm reading there appears to be loads of taxis going from the port to Maho & back again all day.
Scared of missing the ship lol so that's why I'd thought about the ship excursion !
Thanks for all the replies folks, Lorna 😊

Thanks for the report.:)
FYI: RCCL charges no where near 69.00 just for a ride to Maho. Maybe that's one that includes boat ride/snorkel or something.
Think it might be in and around $35 for Maho excursion.

Ship excursion versus getting a taxi/minibus at the port to Maho Beach, which is the best to do?

I'm not too fussed about the beach anyway, I'm more excited to see the planes landing ;p That was good that the taxi driver offered to wait on you and even better that he said he wouldn't charge any extra.
