You are not alone.  I haven't received marketing e-mails for many years.  Have called perhaps 75 - 100 times to various departments including C&A, Club Royale, etc.  I have tried four different e-mail addresses.  Each time I call RCI about something I tell them again and they say everything is in order and there is no reason I should not receive them.  Heck, Michael Bayley and his staff even got involved a few years ago and he couldn't even get 'er done! 😩

So I finally started getting emails. I went on the website and signed in after clearing the cache on my computer. I went to my account, then offers and communication and unchecked all three boxes. Royal, Azmara, and celebrity and signed out.

Then I signed back in again and did the same thing except this time I checked the royal box for offers and communication. Just the royal and not the others.

The next day I got an email from club Royale. Hopefully this will work for you too!!! And keep our fingers crossed for our Royal Up email invitation!!!

Checked and all boxes are checked. Hmmm... I may need to change my email address? Rare to get offers from Royal.

Me too. I’m a long time royal customer and have tried and tried to fix this issue. I get emails but never marketing emails. It’s so frustrating because I miss out on a lot of sales. If you figure it out please let me know.

  3. Regarding our experience with Reyno, other than embarkation and debarkation, we had approximately 10 minutes of face time with him the entire cruise. We never saw him. There was one email the day before we embarked and that was the only email we received pre-cruise and he didn't appear to have read my response to the one email or the survey. There were no alcoholic beverages in the room as requested and I had to resend him the list again after I mentioned it. I really don't want to reiterate all of the issues we had (including he did not show up at Grease and had not reserved us seats even though we had confirmed it with him the night before) but I will sum it up to say that the service was upon request (via email or phone call) and nothing was done proactively. He never checked in with us to see if we needed anything and nothing special was done without us asking. I had sent our requested restaurants and dining times via email pre-cruise and he made all reservations at 6pm every night instead of the times requested. Don't get me wrong, we had a fabulous cruise however, the genie experience was definitely disappointing. I don't know if he was overwhelmed with other guests or what but I definitely expected more. This was not the experience that RC is advertising. We are already off to a much better start with Smitha so we will see how it goes! I will try to remember to report back but if you have any specific questions let me know!

I'm really sorry to hear about all the problems you had. Since I've never experienced SC before this makes me a little nervous.

  4. What a funny coincidence! You will be in the same cabin the sailing before ours and I see from your profile location that we're both also from Baltimore.

I was going to ask if you were in Baltimore after I saw that you were on the Pride and the Grandeur.

We did both of those sailings as well, but after 2 sailings on Allure I don't know if I can ever go back to the small ships again. ;)

  5. I wonder if "only one left" is part of the rep's script because when we booked they told us that 8330 was the only one left! We're on the 4/22 sailing. We were willing to take any itinerary in April and would have actually preferred the Falmouth and Cozumel instead but the only ones with any availability was the 4/8 and 4/22 sailings with St. Maarten and Puerto Rico.

We have 8330 on the 4/15 sailing!!!! Im so excited since Ive never been in an ATS. We've also never experienced SC. Thats how I found this board.....I went searching for reviews of genies and SC. There aren't many reviews for this.

  6. Hello - I just posted the Adventure Ocean daily planners for our 6-night cruise to Bermuda on the Grandeur on the RCI forum at the following link. I know there have been a few threads on here about what activities are available in the kids club, especially on the older, smaller Grandeur - this will give you an idea of what to expect. Hope it helps...

    Thank you so much!!!

  7. Which week are you going in May? We will be on the May 23rd sailing. Our daughter's 10th birthday is May 26. We are in North Carolina and have an option of year round schooling so she will be tracked out for our cruise. Some schools in North Carolina end the last week of May, although with the snow/ice craziness this year some traditional calenders are tacking days on the end. So the later part of May might have more kids than earlier in May.

    We are going May 16.

  8. I want to thank everyone for their responses. You all have definitely put alot of my fears to rest. I expected that most would tell me to cancel and try another ship. I think I might make that final payment after all!! Ever grateful to my CC community......

And thanks to all the Homeschoolers who gave me some great advice too!

  9. I homeschool and my girls have been on 12 cruises. Never a problem with finding kids. There may not be alot but there will be some. Because we homeschooled we used time on the ship for education. Go to guest services and tell them you teach your children and ask them if you could get any special tours of the behind the scenes areas that you could take for educational purposes. Also I have created scavenger hints for the girls to learn about the ship. They have to talk with crew members to get answers. They love the hunt!

Sent from my SCH-I915 using Forums mobile app

Those are fantastic ideas that I never thought of. How did you come up with the scavenger hunt?

  10. No cruiseline will divulge that info...but you have nothing to worry about!

Princess used to tell me. My DSis 20 now so it is some years since I called but there was no problem asking for that info.

Schools do start letting out in May so I would not worry too much about having other kids.

I called RCI and they told me they didnt have access to the manifest so they couldnt tell me about any other children.

  11. thank you for the responses!

We are homeschoolers, which is why we can take vacation in May. We have cruised Carnival before in July and there were plenty of kids, but it was summertime. I know my husband and I will have a great time but I want my son to enjoy himself too. Maybe Im just a worrywart.....

Ive heard so many mixed reviews about this ship that it has made me second guess myself. On the other hand, I just priced out the Allure and between the prices on balconies and airfare I have sticker shock!!!!

  12. Im about to make my final payment for our cruise in May on the GOS but am having second thoughts. Im worried that there wont be other children on board my DS's age (12). I originally chose the grandeur because of the fantastic price and the port is 2 blocks from my house. As all of you with children know, a bored teenager can make for a miserable vaca for all. Thoughts anyone??

ps. I called an RCI agent but they wouldnt tell me how many other children were on board our sailing:confused:
