  1. Glory without a question, has 2.0 upgrades and goes into dry dock this month to be even more upgraded. Its also the sister ship to the liberty and if you liked the liberty, you will love the Glory.

Splendor only has the bigger spa, and thats about it. Its more of an old school style of cruising without the guys burgers and stuff. I suggest go with the upgraded ship, and spend your money right.

  2. I've never come close to any 7,500 point total even when taking 3 cruises during a 12-month period and I'm still getting Premier offers. Not great ones by any means (mine are always CP4 which are $300 cash and a discounted rate).

Have never received a Pack-and-Play offer. Have never received a bounce-back offer. I didn't even get a DOU card on Vista even though I played Roulette for 13 nights. :(

Obviously, I'm not a big spender. I don't know why I started getting Premier offers. Prior to that (a couple of years ago), I'd received just generic casino cabin fare offer a couple of times. Once I booked one of those, it seems I started receiving the Premier offers but I really don't know why and they won't really tell you. Why should they reveal their Secret Formulae for what offers they give, when they give them, and to whom they give them?

There are 2 6-day sailings showing up on the calendar. Had hoped to take one but I booked the 1/2/17 13-night Pride Journeys last week and I'm going solo. Plus, just used over two weeks PTO for Vista and pre-cruise, so I probably won't have the time or the money to do a casino sailing this fall.

If I didn't have to put down a 200% deposit, I might book one just to hold a cabin and hope I could get the time off, but my credit card is still hurting from the Vista trip and the Journeys $800 deposit!

So your getting a reduced rate, and cash? And your tell me thats not great?? Man better check the regular rates of what us normal people pay before you say a comment like that.

  3. You can no longer do that, most of them are sold out now a month before sail date. If its available it will be a small fortune anyways, though they usually close out the sailing 2 days before and dont allow anyone to book regardless.

  4. Really? Do you know of ANY business that NEVER makes an exception to ANY of their policies, regardless of the situation?

Heck, even RCI makes exceptions on a fairly regular basis.

Apparently her parents are not "Loyal to Royal" because by sticking to their policy guns after she was told verbally the a refund was not a problem they risked losing a loyal customer.

Besides, by quietly giving the refund she was "promised" over the phone (even if the CS rep overstepped) then this would never had made the news. Now, by attempting to put their foot down then caving after the news story, everyone knows they caved and now they risk more people asking for refunds.

What you sound like to me, is the person that cancels 15 days before the cruise and then goes haywire b/c their money isnt refundable. Their are many business's that stick to their policies and thats that. All the people saying their getting bad press, are the same people that will keep traveling with the cruise line. I mean Carnival had a sister company ship sink and they were all over the news, and now you cant book a cruise a month in.

Sorry, but they did it out of being nice. The fact that she wasnt happy from the outcome is just ridiculous.

  5. She deserves a future cruise credit as per the policy, thats where it ends. The people who think she deserves all her money back, OBVIOUSLY have no business experience what so ever. The cardinal rule, if you give it to one, then 10 will ask. You break policy for one, then 20 will ask for the exception.

  6. Its def sold out, and the splendor is confirmed for china in 2019 if your all wondering. People seriously need to start wrapping their heads around booking early, my pvp is one of the straight shooter ones and I always book early now if he calls me on a reduced deposit. The ships are filling up super fast now, and waiting till last minute cost a fortune.

  7. Im with fireman, a good pvp knocks all of this out for you. You will have to pay the deposit for the cruise up front, but who cares. The point is to use the money you have towards your balance. Call your pvp, its like having an inside man and you dont have to do anything but pay lol

  8. Sometimes it is hard to be nice when you have told them repeatedly not to call you and they still do it. Respect works both ways.

I agree to a certain extent, you can always ask them to be reassigned to another sales agent that may be more organized. I guess b/c I have sales experience I see it both ways, but I would never book elsewhere then my guy. I know its how he eats, so I pick up the calls, but I have history and he knows I will only call him to book.

Build the relationship, and the the respect both ways you speak about will come. The generation nowadays is so disconnected its horrible.

  9. I gotta say some of you need to learn to be a bit nicer. I have been in outbound sales before, and its not easy to do what they do. If I am not interested I will tell them its just not time and was just looking. It hurts these people when you book elsewhere so of course they are going to call.

Show them respect when they call and they will do the same. I have had the same pvp for 6 years, he knows when I log in and unless their is a huge gap in time, knows I will call him. Its mutual respect for knowing they do get a commission. I can understand some not knowing, but hopefully you will not reject their calls any longer and respect them for their hard work.

  10. Carnival never thought of OASIS class ships, b/c though their great. They are horrible business moto's as they dont fit anywhere, and are difficult to fill, especially in slow season. I love both brands, but ships are just getting ridiculous in size and making it slower to debark and more expensive.

Heck I even think the Vista is too big, but I understand the reason to up the ship size to compete.
