  1. Thanks. Since the entire Pearl Harboro tour lasts that long we will probably just take the bus to the luau and if time go to the museum. Does anyone know what time the luau ends? Our ships leaves at 11 pm and we are planning to take a taxi back to the cruise terminal.

  2. We are on the Grand Princess in March and are planning to do a full tour of Pearl Harbor on our own and later in the day the luau at Hale Koa. We will have most of the afternoon free and would appreciate any ideas of what to do. Thank you.

  3. I did the Danube Christmas Market cruise 5 years ago when there was a record snow storm the end of November for the entire cruise. It did add to the festive nature of the cruise. It does get dark early and in a couple of towns I just took a taxi back to the ship. I think the best itinerary is the one that includes Budapest, Vienna, and Nurmeburg (it has the biggest market by far). I am leaving Wednesday for the Grand European tour from Budapest to Amsterdam and am looking forward to seeing the Danube towns without 3 feet of snow. My only other piece of advice is check the weather very carefully before leaving. We did and we were prepared clothes wise for all of the snow.

  4. We arrive in Budapest on Aug 11th and overnight on the Agar before sailing on the 12th. Which optional tours did you do and what did you think of those? what was your overall impression of the cruise. I did the Danube Christmas Market cruise a few years ago in record snow fall and am looking forward to seeing the sights without all of the snow.

  5. Thank you so much!

  6. We are Marion and Joe Schafer. We are doing Budapest on our own from the 9th. I do believe we depart on the Gefjon on the 12th. Looking forward to meeting you and your friends. We winter in Gilbert, Arizona so have lots of American friends and sure have room for a few more :-). Keep in touch.

We must be on different ships because we leave Budapest on the Aegir. Wish we were on the same ship.

  7. So glad that we will all be together. My husband and I have done the Rhine and I did the Danube Christmas Markets with 3 girlfriends. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. We are going with friends who have never done a river cruise. We live in NC and are coming to Budapest early afternoon of the 11th. Looking forward to meeting you. We are Pam and Pat Bello. Our flight gets in about 1 pm and we have transfers to the ship through Viking. You will love Budapest. See you on the 11th!

  8. We just got off the Pride this morning. If you think it was bad getting on, you should have been on board yesterday. Very rough high seas and lots of green people (and they were not Dr Suess characters) and sea sickness bags at the elevators. We were really rolling yesterday and into the eveining and glad that they slowed down. Disembarkation does take awhile and it seems like it is even longer since many folks do the self assist. we made it off the ship and out of the terminal ok only to spend a couple of extra hours on the parkinig lot known as I95 South. Enjoy your vacation. The HUB application was great since we had 2 teenage grand daughters with us and they loved the social media package. Enjoy your trip.

  9. We have booked the Viking Grand European Tour for August 2016. Has anyone ever done a DIY tour of any of the cities instead of the Viking shore excursion. Any suggestions would be helpful.

We are on the Aug 11th cruise from Budapest. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

  10. It certainly wouldn't be a problem for me, but may be for others.

As Rick has said, you're pretty far down, and anyone standing on SeaWalk will not be able to see into your cabin, but a portion of your balcony (about 1/2) will be visible (you'll have the larger, extended sized balcony). If you are sitting in your chair on the balcony, and that chair is flush up against the glass sideways, they can see the tops of your heads. Sort of like on a Grand-class, when the upper-deck balcony cabin occupants are looking down on the Caribe/Dolphin balconies.

I don't see a problem with your choice in this stateroom, but it depends on how you feel about it.

If Caribe Deck cabins are available, you may want to pick the same cabin on that deck just to be 'safe'. ;)

    :D

I think I remember you posted some picutres of a handicapped mini suite on the Royal/Regal. If you had posted them could you repost them. Thanks so much.

  11. Isn't there always a team like that on every ship? If it means that much to them then let them have the prizes! Life is too short to worry about something I don't need anyway!

We enjoy trivia and were on the CB in January. At the start of each Trivia game an announcement was made that the only resource you could use was your brain i.e., no phone, ipad to look up answers. And a staff member monitored the room. We also had many people doing b2b and of course they got all of the answers correct since they had heard them a few days before. All of this for a princess clip or water bottle. As you said, let them have it.

  12. I was on the Royal TA last April and purchased the Enclave pass. The pool, showers and sauna were great but the beds were not heated (BIG disappointment). We are going on the Regal TA in September and I was hesitant to book it if the beds were not heated. Good to know that they are now heated,

  13. Thanks for the on going review. We were on the Regal the beginning of December and are going on the CB Jan 26th. We are going with 4 other Air Force friends with whom we were stationed in Arkansas over 40 years ago. This will be a fun cruise for lots of reasons. We also live near Raleigh, NC and be thankful you have not been here the last week. Safe travels home.
