  1. I will ask tomorrow and report back. He seemed particularly uninterested in what I wanted eg he quoted for a G2 cabin telling me I’d got a free upgrade from H, but neglected to mention how small those cabins are. I only found out from comments on this site. The travel agent quoted for a F1 and that was the online price without negotiation, which in the UK you can get a fairly significant further amount off. 

  2. I was quoted a price by the onboard cruise seller which included $400 OBC if I book within the next 3 days. However, a quick google showed the same cruise at a lower price (around £1000GBP) with my usual travel agent. This was with a 2 category upgrade from the onboard price. Apart from the OBC is there any reason to book onboard? I’m very confused as he insisted that was the best price available.

  3. I’ve been on Voyager for a few days and disappointed that the tour desk upgraded 3 of my 4 booked excursions to moderate from easy. They also cancelled the 4th one when we were at dinner the first night due to operational reasons. I think because the weather was unpredictable and we were doing an open top bus tour. The excursion lady tried to convince me that I’d be ok doing a moderate level activity but as I don’t want to the the entitled selfish one as referred to by that ignorant poster last week, I declined. So pretty disappointed that there’s nothing for me to do but we’ve hired a private guide which seemed to be the only way forward.

  4. Hi, we’ve sailed Seabourn several times but first time on Regent. From some research today people are waiting up till 1am to book dining and tours a year in advance. That sounds crazy to me but it is what it is. So is it likely that we won’t get decent dining times in specialty restaurants and tours will be full? We plan to book tomorrow for a Med cruise in September. Thanks for your wisdom.

  5. Thank you all very much for your insight. It seems like this won’t be the cruise to see the colours but will still be an amazing experience. I’m watching prices carefully as it’s still expensive to book at present, but I think this is one for us to do with our expectations managed!

  6. We have always wanted to see the fall foliage so we are thinking of a Seabourn cruise next year. There are 2 options, Montreal to Boston or vice versa. One on 31st August and one on 11th September. Please could someone help me decide if a cruise is a suitable way to see the scenery at its best. The other option departs on 22nd September and is round trip Montreal. Thank you for any advice.

  7. Thanks All. What a lovely friendly forum this is, I found the Seabourn one to be a bit pretentious so I didn’t post very often. I’m now imagining a whole dover sole on a plate in front of me while I should be concentrating on my work!

    Darryl, we are actually on the 1st September sailing and unfortunately we don’t have the luxury of cancelling without penalty from the UK. If we do, I will lose everything I have paid so far including the club class flights that I have paid for in full. I would still like to sail with Azamara, just not to Greece and Turkey as we have done this frequently. I can’t get my travel agent to tell me what has happened on prior sailings that have been altered, she said I just have to wait and see what Azamara offer (if anything) as an incentive to take the new itinerary. Please could you post on here as soon as you hear anything and I will do the same.

  8. Thanks Everyone. I shall warn my husband about the size of the stateroom but other than that, they sound pretty similar.

     

    Can you tell me about the Specialty restaurant on Azamara? Is it worth booking and is it hard to get a reservation. We are sailing over our anniversary but I'm not too concerned which day we try it. I believe there is a cost of $25 pp, is that right?

     

    Much as we love Seabourn, I wante to try something different this year and the itinerary looked great. it's not Azamara's fault about the situation in Ukraine but I am hoping that they at least acknowledge that many passengers only booked for those 3 ports. We shall see because at present nothing has been announced so I'm still going to Sevastapol along with the Russian fleet!

  9. Our last 3 cruises have been with Seabourn, all of which we loved. I've taken the plunge and booked Azamara Quest for September. Are there any major differences we should be aware of? I know that not all drinks are included, but is it correct that Az charge for water? What happens if I order a cocktail not on the included list but it has the included ingredients - will I still be charged? How does the food compare?

     

    Also, we have unfortunately booked the Black Sea itinerary so I know it will be changed. Can I expect any OBC for the inconvenience? TBH I would prefer to cancel but I paid 50% deposit including club class flights and I would lose it all.

Having just rung the UK office again (4th time today as 3 previous attempts resulted in me being on hold for 20 minutes so I eventually gave up), my OBC (confirmed in writing by them) has gone missing again!! I sent them another scanned copy of the voucher (the 4th time I have done so) and now have a promised return e-mail to tell me what is going on.

     

    My frustration is due to me having e-mails from them confirming receipt of voucher, confirming credit will be applied, confirming all is ok and then suddenly they've never heard of me or my voucher!!

     

    But for anyone from the UK planning to call them now, expect a really long wait for your call to be answered and then to be told that the entire Coupon Department - or whatever they call themselves - has gone to lunch!!!

  11. Is this thread still operative? Is there someone out there who needs a referral coupon? Please respond with your email address so I can contact you directly. This assumes, of course,, that you are preparing for your first Seabourn cruise and have not made your final payment.
