  1. We also did a cruisetour through Princess two years ago. We were on Grand Princess out of Vancouver....7 day cruise and then 5 days on land. Princess has their own lodges that you stay in and it was a wonderful trip.

PS....you don't have to feel bad not going on Carnival. Carnival owns Princess.

  2. I know what the new rules say, so please don't be critical. I have always decorated our door. Last cruise on Elation, I received the "naughty letter" under our door and I promptly took down the door sign. Others ignored the letter and left theirs up.

Evidently it is not strictly enforced from ship to ship and I will be going on Magic in March and wondered if any of you have recently decorated your door on Magic.

Also, if you have found flame retardant paper.....please let me know where you found it.

    Thanks!:)

  3. Does anyone decorate their cabin doors? Let's see some of your decor. Need to be inspired for our cruise in December!

Well as of 10/31/16 all door decorations must be flame retardant and must be hung up with either magnets or Command Strips. It's really hard to find flame retardant decorations.

  4. Just got off on 9/1 and the box was in our cabin, M191. However I barely knew it was there. We had the king bed and upper pullman set up. We pushed the king against the window to have more floor room and we used the box like a shelf to hold stuff. It really wasn't a big deal at all.

How was the location for 191...we have it booked for January.:)

  5. I was in 2302 & my friend in 2306 no noise issues at all. My cabin was just under lobby reckon 2306 wasn't quite under galley, you'll be fine. Your cabin is the first one on right with white cage on top

    Thank you so much!:)

  6. It's my understanding that there is no fee involved. I haven' researched it completely. I do know you can communicate with fellow passengers on the ship. So easier to keep up with family:)

If you are going to use it to keep in touch with family on the ship, it is $5 for the cruise. You each get a pin number and that's how you communicate.

It is free to use the ship map and what's going on, etc.

If you are going to use Wi-Fi there is a charge by how much you want to do....I used it for FB and Messenger and it was $5/day.

  7. There is nothing like a messy "debark" to put a bit of a dark cloud on a wonderful cruise.

We just returned from Splendor and suggest that it wasn't the worst debark, but it was far from the best. Of our 33 cruises, each debark has been different.

For this one, all diamond, platinum, and faster to the fun who were doing "self-debark" were positioned in the same dining room. The cruise director announced that each group would be taken off in turn in 20 minutes. Not five minutes later, a crew member came to the room and called "platinum" and everyone rushed the door. So much for organization.

My real purpose is to tell you about our absolutely best and most fair debark. This was on a RCCL ship. They used a dining room. A crew member was checking the sign & sale cards at the door. The dining room had two entrances, like most. We were directed toward one entrance and walked around the matre'd's station and toward the other door. We were then told to place our luggage in line, in the order we came in. The end result was a big horseshoe shape line of luggage, single file around the main desk.

When it came time to leave the ship, a crew member came and stood next to the line of luggage and each person, in order of luggage got up, got their bag, and got off.
