  1. You will pack up loose items and leave your luggage in your first cabin . While you are having breakfast and taking care of immigration details and cabin staff will move your packed bags and hanging clothes to your new cabin . There can be a small delay in getting into your new cabin as it might still be being cleaned .
speak with your host to make sure they know you are moving . We did this three weeks ago .

  2. Have sailed from Cape Liberty a number of times, usually arriving 9:30 -10am. Garage has always been open.

Note that after exiting NJ TPK you will have to make a couple of turns which are marked by port signs but easy to miss. GPS eliminates that risk. Also, the earlier you arrive the more traffic you will likely encounter on pier from cars picking up disembarking passengers.

As of last monday there is a new road into the port from the turnpike. Just follow the signs to 440 S from turnpike and the first exit on right after the overpass will take you to the port road.

  3. With three teens when I was there our tour included a peddle cab tour of the city. We left from across the street from the war remanet museum and we had a 45 minute ride thru the streets. It was so much fun.

  4. Be aware that "smile" is common in names of Vietnamese tour agents. This one is clearly kosher, be sure you use exactly the same web & email addresses

    JB :)

We used the same company above and it was great.

  5. Newark is a highly urban area. The hotel is connected by a sky bridge to Newark Penn Station, so no need to wander the streets around the station. Newark Penn Station is very busy. It's a major transportation hub for Amtrak, NJ Transit trains, PATH, and NJ Transit buses.

It will take you twice as long to go from an airport hotel to PATH at Newark Penn Station and on to NYC and will cost you $11.25/pp each way on NJ Transit/PATH and $13/pp each way on NJ Transit to midtown.

A lot of cruisers have stayed at the Hilton in order to more easily sightsee in New York. There has been no negative feedback.

The Path from Newark goes straight to the World Trade Center , fare I believe is $2.25 each way . If you change at journal Square you can go to 34th Street (midtown). The Iron Bound is with in walking but most of the good restaurants have a shuttle.

  6. There is luggage storage at the Buquebus Terminal at Puerto Madero - it is a short taxi ride from the cruise port.

It cost us $50 pesos per item per day. It is located in the Subsuelo - basement. You have to ask a few folk to find it as it isn't well signposted. You pay when you pick it back up.

Just to close the loop - we stayed at the Sheraton before the cruise and would be coming back after our trip to the falls so they stored our luggage for three days which allowed us to just have carry on to Falls .

  7. The tours in St. Lucia are great & the Pitons are amazing but it is a LONG day with a lot of time spent riding in a van. Only you know if your kids would enjoy that. It is also very hilly, winding roads & not the best thing for anyone with motion sickness.

I agree with the above . When my children were younger I took them to the Pitons from the port. It was a long journey and one of my children became car sick . After a while I told the driver to just take us to a beach which he did . The beach was beautiful but it had black sand which became so hot in the sun that we had to keep our shoes on so we could get out of the water. St Lucia has great beaches just do some research . You may want to get a day pass at one of the resorts so you have all the facilities .

  8. I was wondering if anyone has had contact with Pira Tours recently. I have emailed them at info@piratour.net and also operaciones@piratour.net a couple times with no response. I also filled out their online form with no response. We are very interested in their tour but it is not looking good! Thanks in advance!

  9. If the cruise line thinks there is any danger ,they will reroute the ship. Several year's ago the NYC to Bermuda cruise went to Canada to avoid a storm. If you are driving to the ship you may want to add a few sweaters and not worry where the ship is going . Enjoy yourself .

  10. Families tend to travel with their children and the cruise lines limit the number of children in each age group. When booking an Easter cruise once I was told we couldn't because they had to many seven year olds booked on the cruise. FInd a good travel agent.

  11. Fshagen, we are only "complaining " because we need the website to work. Maybe some of us aren't as computer and website literate as you are. I know you think you have provided suggestions that work for you. If they don't work for us that doesn't mean we are complaining. It is in fact very frustrating.

  12. Your # 3....Is a quick glance as they pass quickly by you going to ruin your dinner

I tend to look at my table mate not at everyone entering the dining room...JMHO but sad you're spending your dinner time assessing those that may have "ignored the suggested" nightly dress or whether they should be relegated to eating elsewhere in your opinion.

Hopefully you'll ask to not be seated near the dining room entrance on your future RCI cruise's or choose a cruiseline more in step with your needs and comforts ... after all it's a vacation....relax and enjoy :D
