  1. Really?!?! Carnival? We were on Carnival Liberty last year and I got to keep ALL of mine, even two larger conch shells. Never even questioned them when I put my things through the security scanner.

NCL scanner picked them up when we boarded. :(

  2. What is the name of the place you were at at Frigate Bay? Are there clean bathrooms? Easy to get a taxi back? And are there pushy vendors or massage people or they offer and a polite no thank you is accepted.

    Thanks.

I don't know the exact name of the place. Sorry.

    Taxi driver, recommended it.

We told the driver to pick us up at 1pm, because of the group we were with.

I wanted to stay longer...loved the beach.

around 2:30 another couple wanted to leave, with us to save on the fare.

There was a taxi there waiting.

He said $5 p/p... I told him no, it's $3 for more than 4 people. He said ok.

Vendors aren't on this beach... Just the massagers who ask nicely and respect No for an answer.

Sand gets hot and tons of shells and some rocks in the water.

I wore water shoes that helped greatly.

Do No Take Shells back to the ship.

Found out the sad way, they took all of them and dumped into the garbage. :(

  3. Taxi driver told us to go to Harbour lights Beach, since it's less crowded than Boatyard. $4 p/p each way.

It's a very busy stretch of beach, packed with people at 9am in the morn.

$20 for a drink and chairs and umbrella.

Sand is smooth. No need for water shoes.

There is a place to change into your swim suit, bathrooms, a snack stand and bar.

For $10 p/p you take a 1 hour tour on a glass bottom boat.

Snorkeling with sea turtles and swim over a shipwreck.

Well worth the money, highly recommend.

We had a great day here.

  4. Reduit Beach in St Lucia

    has tons of beach vendors.

Vendors asking us to buy "good stuff" to smoke.

Even asked us to try a sample.

One vendor stabbed another vendor in the leg right in front of us.

Blood all over the sand.

To say the least, this beach wasn't enjoyable to stay at.

    Chairs/umbrella $25.

If you walked down the beach a bit, they were $20.

    Taxi - $7 p/p each way.

  5. Last minute we changed our minds.

    Instead of going to Carambola

we decided to go to Frigate Bay.

    So glad we did!

    Extremely peaceful.

    Not crowded.

    Taxi there for 2 $5 p/p.

    If you share a cab - $3 p/p

    Chair/umbrella rental $10.

    Massage $20 for 30 minutes

  6. No dabbers; you just push in the numbers on your paper cards.

Bingo on NCL is expensive considering that the per game payouts are pretty low (and split if there's more than one winner).

    Tracy

    Thanks!

My DH likes playing because he has won several times on other cruise ships. $$$ He is now hooked.

Guess we'll donate more in the casino.

  7. CGB is a nice beach and a larger bay and you can see Jost and STJ from there, but it does get very crowded when a ship is in port. It is home to several beach bars/restaurants, and safari taxis deliver loads of your fellow day visitors and line up later to return everyone to the port. If you want a busier vibe with different food and drink options, water toys, and the oldest continually operating rum distillery in the Carib CGB is it. Most folks find Myett's is a nice spot with good drink and lounge/umbrella deals, that's the restaurant/beach bar the taxis drop off at.

    Thanks for the info.

    We're not "Beach Bar" people.

We enjoying lounging and snorkeling on a beach.

  8. We were at Cane Garden Bay last week. Never been to Brewer's so I can't compare. The safari taxis are $8 per person each way. It is an adventure ride up and over the mountain/hill.

When you get to the beach, if you turn left chairs and umbrellas were $5 each, but there is shade if you'd rather have a tree above than umbrella. If you turn right, people said those were $8 each to rent.

There are people walking around to take orders and bring you what you want, or you can walk up. There are several bars/stands/restaurants along the beach that are easy to walk to. Drink prices ran $3+, beers were 3 or 4 for $15 range, food was about $8-12 for a lunch plate.

We enjoyed it. Go early as it starts to fill up as the day goes on.

    Thanks for the info

How did you like Cane Garden Bay?

    Did it have nice views?

    Crowded?
