  1. I would be more worried about the crew as well, staff is from all over the world, and contracts start and stop all the time, A worker could go home to there country for a month break, then get back on the ship, 20 days later start showing signs of illness. Same thing goes for WDW, where they like to have staff from around the world.

  2. the big show is called Vroom

roger is still in the piano bar, he was a lot of fun

No troubles with generators, he hit cruising speed of 22 knots, which I think is max for that ship.If they had any problems, no one was aware of them. All port times were accurate.

  3. Just back from the Pride, April 20 sailing, we arrived at the pier around 1140, checked in and waiting to board by noon, on board and having lunch by 1245, we bought cheers the second day, if I could have just bought it for myself it would have been a great deal, but wife is not a drinker, I think we broke even or maybe a little less.

We went to universal thru the ship, very efficient at the rope when it opened, plenty of time for us to see and do what we wanted to without feeling rushed, nice not to have to drive.

Nassau and Freeport we stayed on the ship, we enjoyed serenity during this time while no one was around, we do not like it when it gests packed.

Food was always very good, we had MTD and went 4 nights, 3 nights of those we had the same table, which was great, we ate one night in the steakhouse, very good.

Always played bingo, never won, but we find it amusing. We enjoyed the piano bar, and liked to sit and listen to the band and the guitar players in the casino and the lobby.

Having been on 8 carnival cruises, and 10 on other lines, we have seen and heard all the jokes. Love and Marriage show even gets old. Carnival really needs to change up there shows, past guests like us are getting bored with the main shows they offer.

Legends was funny, that's always different because it features guests.

We think it will be our last Carnival for a while, we are going to do the mega ships on RCCL, and want to try the breakaway on NCL.

Any questions, will be happy to try to answer.

  4. LOL, yeah, we are going to try a lot of drinks that we would not ordinarily try. Like coffee, haha, I figure it wont be a stretch to do 7 drinks during the course of a day, especially with being on the ship so long. We are not normally big drinkers, last year in Alaska we did not even think about it because we spent all our time in the ports. Will write a review on if we think it worked out for us.

  5. So, me and DW will be on the Pride on April 20th, we have decided to try Cheers, we use cash not CC, it just seems like a lot to fork over 800.00 all at once just to drink for the week. Our rational is that we are only getting off in Port Canaveral to do Universal Studios (50 year old Potter Fan here) LOL Nassau and Freeport have been done many times, will stay on ship and enjoy empty pools and hot tubs.

Big decision and we hope its the right one.

  6. Why bring on bottled filtered water anyway.. The ship already has free filterred tap water to drink... Why pay for the same filtered water and carry it around with you until your room is ready, when the ship has it for free out of the tap....

I always bring bottler water, water out of the taps tastes like sh..

Please don't lecture me, I have a T1 water treatment license in NJ and know more about water quality than I ever thought was possible, you can have there tap water.

  7. I saw this a long time ago, we have been cruising a very long time, when they started charging for the supper club, then the fancy coffee and treats, you could see what direction it was going, used to get awesome food and desserts in the dinning room, I remember when soda was free with your meal, and the assistant waiter would ask the wife if she wanted the meat out of the lobster tail. But as ships got bigger and they needed to open up to bigger numbers, either they would have priced themselves out of the market, or cut back on what they could, they are there to turn a profit. Other lines still have these amenities if you want to pay the cost up front in the fare. The choice remains with the consumer.
