Jason, Were the excursions today a success? Penguins sighted at which sites? What time did the tenders start and finish?
-
Thanks Dileep for the video not only for Bluff Cove but the many other videos and photos from your travels you have shared. One question:
Was Jason your shuttle driver before/ or after you got to the 4 x 4's?:)

Jason,
First of all thank you very much for your kind efforts to answer all the requests. Let us know if you would be pleased with some trifle from the outside world. Please post a list of ships also due in port that are not shown on cruisett.com. As the season passes could you note the visits of the various vessels, weather and penguin reports? And thanks again,:)

Jason, re: CavemanJoe's question about the best place to have a beer in Stanley. Your tactfulness and diplomatic response is to your credit. You could have just said "the nearest". Thanks for all your help, see you this April, the Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

bluesea777, Thanks in advance for your report. Already we have learned the limitations of the wine package and bed toppings. Also its a pleasure to read your descriptions of different aspects of your cruise.. Keep it going, we will enjoy our cruise aboard the Sun soon especially benefitting from your kindness.:)

Those of us on the upcoming voyages of NCL Sun are thankful for the reports like yours. If that was jasonflk i hope to chat with him when the NCL Sun tries once again to visit Stanley on 2 April 2010. Please tell us more, you probably are trying to catch up with the stuff at home, etc. But there are many curious CCers waiting for your reports.

Happy New Year Jason or is it Boxing Day or something else? Happy that Caveman Joe found a guide. NCL has apparently added Volunteer Point to its offerings too. Did someone receive a freighter with some extra 4 x 4's?
Looking forward to :) Bluff Cove Tour in April, hope we are able to share the tour with you.

NCL has revamped website and the excursions for Stanley appear to be changed to include even Volunteer Point. Descriptions of each tour in Stanley have added details, also. Hope everyone on the NCL itineraries are able to make this port and enjoy the Sun's final passages thru these waters. Happy New Year.:)

;) Jason, we are looking forward to the occasion, maybe you will be the driver on our excursion. Best wishes until April. les

:D Jason, thanks for all the advice and info.. We opted for the Bluff Lagoon Tour per your info and now we learn its a world wide excursion prize winner. Also appreciated the historical input about the 900+ stranded passengers and crew back in 2005. If we get back to Stanley from Bluff Cove with any time at all, would really like to share a pint with you and some of the locals who responded so hospitably.

anyone know if ncl has a tour to bluff cove? i couldn't find it on their website... but i have heard they have some technical difficulties with their excursion information.
urquie, using jasonflk's info and other previous postings we decided the Lagoon Bluff tour by NCL was the Bluff Cove Tour. At this time on the ncl website, excursions, South America, Stanley ...its listed. check the detailed description it and appears to be the same. For some photos of this tour by another NCL Sun cruiser see:

:) Hope you found some gold in Dahlonega, because finding your video was like finding gold for us. Did you play the golf course? Thanks,

:confused:Gixer, Thanks for volunteering the information. We will arrive, weather permitting, in April, are there differences in what is accessible and noteworthy? Penguins departed? Weather too foreboding for even 4 by 4's? Thanks

GV Tours - Puerto Montt
in South America
Posted
We used GV tours (April 2010) and were blessed that their daughter was our guide. Itinerary included Fruitillar, Petrohue Falls, views of Mt. Osorno, etc. Our favorite was Cafe Allemein for lunch. We were a private group of four and had a very comfortable van. Highly recommend.:)
