One is sugar free, one is warm chocolate melting cake, one changes daily and then there are ice cream  choices or the cheese plate.

Just spent 14 days on the Mardi Gras, so if your July cruise on the Glory had four different dessert choices that changed every day, why would the newest ship in the fleet only have one?

Don't they also offer a fruit plate?

Sidework, get ready for the next meal, break, rest, other food service work.

Since they had to that anyway before the brunch ended at 1 instead of noon, I'm guessing that they are being sent to Lido since I have heard fewer stations and shortage of staff there, thus longer lines. It gets very busy on Lido at noon and the next few hours. I could be wrong, just my guess.

I have never understood this, why do platinum have to use drink coupon at brunch, but gold can use anywhere. To me, it seems like the gold has the better benefit......maybe I am missing something.

I may be wrong and/or this may have changed, but I thought the Gold drink coupon could only be redeemed the last night of the cruise.  This is when many people are packing, winding down, etc. and would not be likely to use it.

Put them places like Guy's Burgers where they are forcing people to.  They would much rather you eat a thin beef patty and frozen fries for lunch than the more substantial dishes.  It is probably the cheapest thing they can feed you along with the tacos.

But cruisers also have the option of going to the Lido, where there are better cuts of meat, etc

I have not heard one way or the other.  But my guess is, once that hour is shaved off MDR Brunch, it's not going to be coming back.

Well, if that's the case, they probably will eventually cut the burgers, desserts, and other lunch items being served and just have breakfast instead of brunch.

Probably Lido or Specialty Restaurants that are open for lunch.

I guess that is probably it, since Lido is often busiest (probably) from 12-2 for lunch. I've been hearing that lines are longer on Lido during peak times due to stations being closed.  Has anyone heard that this will be a temporary change due to staffing issues or more of a permanent change (regarding MDR closing at noon)?

Having to staff the MDR for full table service and the galley one less hour.  Sending people to the already crowded Lido deck for an hour of possibly cheaper food, although with the recent cuts I'm not sure whether brunch or Lido food is cheaper for Carnival.

So what do these employees do if not working in the MDR or the galley? I'm sure they are paid by the contract and not hourly.

You're absolutely correct. I went to tea last Thursday and the no-fee tea box was held underneath the for fee teas by the server. Sly? Perhaps, but Carnival is a business. I did have to chuckle when I saw the image of what appears to be pie on the Hub app for the tea time. I've never seen pies served at tea and wouldn't expect to.

Very sly indeed.  First-time cruisers, or cruisers who hadn't previously attended teatime, wouldn't know the difference.  I always liked those cucumber mini-sandwiches.

Book the parking garage (Channelside) through Park Connect.  Same garage, lower price.  Pre-Covid, it was half price, but (like everything else) it is higher now.  But still a really good deal.  I have used them 6+ times.

thank you! exactly what I was looking for.  I couldn't remember the name of it.

Nah. Not on this hallway. That’s just about a 5 foot space between rooms that’s closed off on each side. They have a room on the right side and a room on the left side. I know the one on the left side has a staircase. When they open both doors like that it gives them an area to go from room to upstairs without going out in public.

that's interesting. what deck are you on?

Do you remember the comedian's names?  I'm going on a cruise next month (not Magic) and wondering who we will have.

    Entertainment

This is where Carnival usually shines and I feel like we were disappointed. The comedians on the cruise were bad. Really bad, the worse we have seen with Carnival. I believe there were 3 or 4 and we gave them all a chance and wished we had that 40 minutes of our life back. Guess we were just unlucky here because Carnivals comedians are usually very funny. The 4 main shows were all very good and the cast was probably the best we have seen in a long time. The strange thing is it seemed there were nights where nothing was happening in the main theater. Usually you would get a magician or something. They did do comedy in the main theater during peak hours one night so that was a bust.

  12. I always just let them apply to my S&S account.  It seems in the past they were added on the second day of the cruise.  The reason I don't prepay is because if something would happen and I couldn't make the ship, that's one less thing that I had paid for in advance.
