  1. Hi there,

my husband and I are cruising the fjords on the 3rd June this year with our friends who are in another cabin. I was just wondering if anyone knows how we can book excursions together before we sail to make sure we are on same trips etc, and also for the specialty dining. Our booking is linked but not sure if I could book a restaurant table for all four of us or would we have to book them separately

    many thanks 😊

Don't you find this unbelievably early for Christmas?  Personally I am already sick of the Christmas Ads and shops with Christmas stuff in.  It's only 23rd November and I'm fed up with it already.

When I was a kid, we started making decoratiions around 15th December.  Soon we will starting it in June

    😞

I thought it was too early. We left the Britannia on the 22nd November and the trees were popping up from about the 15th. It felt weird as we were on our holidays and I didn’t want to think about Christmas 😬. They did look beautiful tho. 🎄

  3. We just got home after our first ever p &o cruise on Britannia. We absolutely loved it , beautiful ship, beautiful food couldn’t fault it really apart from one incident in the lovely epicurean restaurant. We were a party of four and had our night ruined by one guest in particular who was dining with his wife on a table close to us, by his constant complaining. As we arrived in the restaurant the staff explained the whole dining experience could take around two and a half hours or longer which we were fine with, the guest on the other table begged to differ as he complained about having to wait over 45 mins for his starter and when it finally arrived he complained about it saying “how am I supposed to eat this, what am I to do with it”  ! It was a lobster dish served in a  tilted wine glass but it was amazing as I ordered it. How the waiter kept a straight face I will never know. He summoned the head waiter over and complained about everything , the waiter replied that there were lots of other diners enjoying their meals to which the guest replied” but look around you , you can tell these people are used to eating in the buffet and wouldn’t know fine dining  therefore wouldn’t know good food!!! We were furious and made comments loud enough for them to hear as how dare he suggest we wouldn’t know good food!  This guest was bragging about his wealth and how he ate in expensive restaurants all over the world but no amount of money can buy manners he  behaved appallingly. I wish the head waiter had told him to leave if he didn’t like it instead of ruining other diners evening. Funnily enough we saw him in the buffet lots of times after that!

Was in my 20s during the 80s.  My (now) husband and I had a great time going to discos every night.  I am now 60 but cannot think what is an 80s theme garb.  Leg warmers??  they were more late 70s.  We just got dressed, went to the bar and danced.

I am struggling because as a P and O newbie, I have a cruise booked for next June and I think that I will be unpopular.  Should I cancel and stick to NCL? but it is an aft balcony and my first ever.

Crikey I hope you don’t cancel your first ever aft cabin due to not dressing up on 80’s night ! (Unless I’ve got the wrong end of the stick)We are also p&o newbies and probably won’t dress to this theme either although in my opinion the 80’s music is the best so will still have a good dance whatever I’m wearing. Have a great cruise 😊

Just tried mine, not working either.

Must be an issue their end as was on it earlier today with no issues.

Not an uncommon problem, they often have issues.

Oh well will have to try tomorrow then, thank you  for the reply. As the cruise is getting  nearer I find myself looking at it most days 😊getting a tad excited I think 😆

  6. Evening all, is anyone else having trouble signing in to their cruise personaliser as mine isn’t letting me log in. It keeps saying my booking reference is wrong..... it’s so frustrating as I’m definitely putting the correct number in. 🤔

  7. Crikey not been on here since Friday and it’s turned into quite a topic😊 thank you all for the input it’s been a great help although since it’s a cruise to the Caribbean I thought the dress code might be a little relaxed but  I do love seeing everyone smart. I have to admit it is a pain having to get ready every night especially if it’s been a busy day but there is always the buffet and the outside bars if we didn’t fancy getting too dolled up or even eat in our cabin. We have first time cruisers with us so there is a lot of questions but as we have never sailed with p&o we can’t always answer so appreciate all the advice 👍I will just add that I do firmly believe that cruisers should follow dress codes and asking this question makes sure we don’t get it wrong so thank you ☺️

  8. Hi just a quick question, we are sailing on Britannia  in 10 weeks time 😬 and just wondered if smart shorts and a shirt for men are acceptable wear in the main dining room ,not on a formal night obviously, or is it long trousers only.  Thank you 😊

  9. Can anyone tell me if you can hire a tux on board Britannia? My friend who is coming with us asked and I couldn’t give her an answer as I’ve never cruised with p&o before. Also is it expensive if you can ? She is just thinking suits are heavy and rather than taking one for her husband they might hire instead if possible.

  10. I am loving this topic as I was a little nervous about jumping ship so to speak as we have always stayed “ loyal to royal” , this will be our first p&o experience. After reading this thread I am now excited about it. We are travelling as a group of 17 , some family some friends , some of which have cruised on Britannia before and some who have never cruised before so will have a lot of fresh eyes 😊

I'm pretty sure tables are available to seat 2,4,6,8 or 10. Tables of 2 and 10 are at a premium though.

Thank you I thought it would be a long shot , I doubt we will all eat together at the same time every night anyway .

  12. Does anyone who has sailed on Britannia know how big the tables are in the main dining room , how many people can you get seated round a table? We will be a group of 12 and was wondering if we would all fit or have to separate 😊

  13. My hubby and I were so relieved that it was a late sailing as after getting onboard and by seven o'clock we had not had our luggage delivered to cabin yet I was getting a little nervous. Earlier that day we left the hotel without our luggage as instructed by rc and were told that our luggage would get picked up separately. So at 7 pm I called our concierge to see if she could find out if it was onboard yet although we had been told it could be delivered to cabin anytime up until 9pm. She made a call and yes I was right our luggage was still at the hotel!!! But was been sent straight away. I'm just so pleased I called the concierge because if I didn't we wouldn't have had our luggage.

  14. Hi we were there in April this year and booked a cabinette, we received a bottle of cava and had a fab buffet that included lobster and steak and salad baked potato and prawns. It was lovely and we didn't have to travel anywhere as the buffet was right behind us. We also had floating mats too, would defo do it again :-)

  15. We were lucky enough to stay in an owners suite on quantum and have to say it was amazing.... It even had a sound box with white noise and thunderstorms and waves crashing to ease you into dreamworld :-) I know that it was a brand new ship and older ships will not have the same layout or decor but we loved the extra space. It definately spoiled us and don't think we would want to book anything but a suite in future. But without a doubt if you get a good deal I would most certainly try it:-)
