If you are on Oasis or Allure I would highly recommend going to Vintages for wine and tapas. This is a must do at least once per cruise for us.

I was on Oasis last week and we had lunch at Izumi Hibachi. This was new after the last refit. I had the beef tenderloin and chicken combo. The beef was outstanding. It was the most tender beef I think I ever had. I can eat steak every meal so this is saying something for me. The only trick is you have to go to the restaurant to make a reservation once you are on the ship. The chef and the wait staff were excellent. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals on a cruise I ever had.

I will be cruising with my two nieces ages 11 and 13. I was told I need a letter from their parents so they can travel with me and so I can authorize things like activities on the ship. Has anyone done this and have the form that is needed?

I did not have any reservation.

I don't know if it is still the case but the last time two times I was there I was able to obtain cabanas at Barefoot. Both times I got of the ship first thing in the morning and went to the gate at Barefoot and talked to the staff. They had cabans that weren't reserved and i was able to give them my card. I was Daimond but I was not staying in a suite.

I wonder if there is a good reason. I suspect that if they had to evacuate the ship it might be faster to use the lifeboats than to try and get everyone out down stairs and through a few small doors.
