  1. I’m on Wonder this week and absolutely love her.  However no matter how gently I try to close the bathroom door, the magnetic frame snatches it the last inch and slams it. Getting up at night to um, powder my nose, became a group event having to firmly tug the door open then try to close it behind me. Think of your refrigerator but with the door gasket removed. Slam.

I doubled up a washcloth and wrapped it around the door holding it in place with some magnetic hooks. I can now QUIETLY open and close that door. The magnetic sill is a great idea - the door doesn’t rattle at all, it’s just poorly executed. A bit of weatherstripping would be terrific here Royal.

  2. In theory the dapper Cigar King is correct.  But - one of our bags didn’t make it to the cabin on Harmony last November because I had a USB charging block in it. No reasoning with them, hand it over.

Worst part was having to unpack the bag, not knowing what they didn’t like in it, on the floor in front of the line at guest services. Pretty sh1tty really. Like I was smuggling a machine gun or something.

  3. We rode it from Harmony last spring and even my feet-firmly-on-the-ground wife loved it. It the one where you “fly” in the prone position (lying down) down the hill and over quite a bit of water to the landing platform. The other one, I believe, is a tree-to-tree trip through the woods so it’s longer.

The Dragon’s staff were very safety-focused and made sure we had a great ride.  After they hook the front harness to the cable they have to hook the rear up and of course must lift your legs to do so. At that point your head rotates and you are looking down off the platform at the sweeping terrain below. This is a thrill!  After release it’s a very smooth bird-like glide to the beach.
We both would do it again.

Is your JS for 2 or more than 2 people...Could you post hour cabin # please

This is the couch in Mariner JS #1104. The pullout “trundle” doesn’t detach so I think a double-bed is all you’d get out of this after a suitable pad is added. (Black stripe is Velcro.)
    Hope that helps.

Well there's a king bed (the pushed together kind) and the sofa which folds out but I don't know how big, it may just be a twin bed.

I'm a secret agent so want to remain secret but there are a small number of JS on Deck 11 forward starboard and we may be in one of them (1100-1106).  Il try to post a pic after Labadee tomorrow if I survive the belly-down zip line my wife booked.

  6. This picture was taken from Mariner today, 6/13/22. We parked first and took our bags down the elevator to dropoff (just seemed easier). From there we were directed to a multi-level ramp right next to the garage to go back up to the level of the boarding terminal entrance. Could have also taken the elevator back up and walked straight across to the entry. It wasn’t far.

T5 isn’t pretty but gets the job done.

  7. As a road warrior I always travel with a thermometer like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Refrigerator-Freezer-Thermometer-Function/dp/B076ZXB263/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1910V8HEHOGBB&keywords=Digital+thermometer+recording&qid=1647995431&sprefix=digital+thermometer+recording%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-4

No more trying to get the perfect sleeping temperature by adjusting the blue and red knob with no numbers on it. Just use it in your bedroom for a night before you leave and sleep well the first night.

  8. We just got off the Dream today;  sailed on the Fantasy in 2014.  The only difference I noticed was the in the District area some of the nightclubs were different.  The Dream's champagne bar is called "Pink";  Fantasy's "Ohh-La-La", for example, and had a completely different theme.  I liked the Fantasy's District area better for some reason but the Dream is a fantastic ship and we'll definitely repeat the visit.  Too bad to hear about the menus being carved in granite though...

And if the company were doing as you suggest on any substantial scale, wouldn’t we be reading about it here constantly?

Here’s the thing:  I fear they’re just getting started.

Just think of the investment involved in their current/future fleet.  It wasn’t a plugged toilet, it was greed - choosing to maximize revenue over p1ssing off a customer who, by the way, has prepaid likely without any recourse other than sail or lose the money!  And it wasn’t the person in the cabin assignment office either, that person was following policies set on the top floor.

Do you truly believe Royal just innocently ran out of the guaranteed cabins?

Yes I love Royal. Started in 1986 on the Song of Norway. You’re never safer on the water than when sailing with Norwegians.

According to the RCL UK site (where the OP booked, I believe) what RCL has done is violate their own marketing and advertising program.

    https://www.royalcaribbean.co.uk/discover-cruise-holidays/guarantee-rooms/

RCL is not being truthful with how they are operating.  You cannot bait and switch like this.

Excellent find!  “You’re always guaranteed a room in your category” right there for all to see. Two words:  ALWAYS, and GUARANTEED. Unambiguous, and I don’t give a d*mn about some pdf somewhere.

Royal sells guarantees at a discount to give itself flexibility. You give up choice for some money. Its an agreement.

Royal (who I love) has decided they want BOTH the flexibility AND full price for the cabin you guaranteed.  “Yes, we sold you the guarantee but John and Mary are here now and will pay full price for that last cabin.  Shouldn’t have trusted us, we have way too many MBA’s around here. “

C’mon, even the RCCL cheerleaders here should see that.

  11. "Where did you eat breakfast? How was the food in the Windjammer?"

Breakfast was 50/50 WJ and MDR. WJ was standard buffet and very nice; pre-made omelettes, scrambled, or fried eggs with a cook-to-order station. Meats, fruits, bakery items... MDR (Deck 3 only) had menu or a help-yourself continental set up in the center.

Preferred MDR over lining up for food and table searching in the WJ (but their food was fine and the service was great - always asking if they could get us anything).
