Yea, I found out from Viking when it happened to me and my friend. And we had gotten up at 3 am and in the time it took us to go through each day, tours were sold out. It sucks and I did complain

Same thing happened to me. In my opinion, this is a major downfall for Viking,

We are currently on the GVII and a couple of things you should know if you are doing this trip within the next couple of weeks. India has discontinued the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes. No one will take them so make sure you do not have that currency. My understanding is that they have put in a new 500 rupee and a 2000 rupee. The ATMs run out of money plus there are long lines for the ATM. At this point don't depend on being able to use ATMs. The banks also have long lines. This is hurting the locals - people can't shop because they can't get money. We changed money at the airport when we arrived which I'm told you still can do. We were told we couldn't get rupees outside of India but several people on board got them through AAA and Wells Fargo. Great trip so far. Delhi has severe pollution but we survived. You a can flush toilet paper. If you have questions, I will try and answer.

Just called Uniworld and was told tipping needed to be cash and in US dollars

Received our e visa in less than 24 hr. Ready to leave 10/31 and can't wait to begin the adventure! Thanks to everyone's posts which have helped in the planning.

We just completed my husband's e visa and waiting to make sure it gets processed before doing mine. Will let you know when I hear. We are flying into Mumbai and doing an 8 day private tour before we get on the boat.

Thanks Rob it does help. We are going to purchase a round 3 prong and will make sure to take the rest of our adapters along with the converter.

A quick question - did the 3 prong round adapters work for charging electronics on the boat and in the hotels? Thanks

Thanks so much CruiseRob! Your information is very helpful. It helps with planning and packing for our trip. I feel better with the toilet paper issue seeing there wasn't a lot of illness aboard the boat.

Baagrade can you give me a little info on what proper dress is for men while on excursions. My husband tends to wear cargo shorts but we are thinking long pants might be more appropriate. He always wears long pants at dinner but up in the air for during the day. Did men wear shorts on the excursions? Unfortunately no one has any updates on the status of the boat so I guess we will see in November. Any other suggestions or tips for our trip would be appreciated. Looking forward to seeing India Thank you

Looking for the same information. We are also scheduled this fall and I would rather know what to expect than be surprised. My main concern is if sickness on board continued to be an issue.

Thanks Intellibyte for your review. We are keeping our fingers crossed that Uniworld will work out the bugs. Uniworld's excursions have always been top notch in my opinion and for the amount this cruise is costing I don't expect mediocre excursions. We have been on several Uniworld cruises, including Vietnam/Cambodia last year and have not experience any illness so having illness on both trips is a concern for me also. I have a fear that this is due to poor sanitation handling by the crew. Please keep the posts coming. Thanks

We have done China and Egypt with Viking and last year did Vietnam with Uniworld and had flush toilets on all those cruises so I find this hard to comprehend that Uniworld would expect their passengers not to have flush toilets. I can see sanitation being a big issue!
