  1. My NA Beer of choice is Buckler so I'm a happy cruiser. Was actually introduced to it on my first Princess cruise ! No complaints hear !

I've been sober for 27 1/2 years so I pretty much have tried all the NA stuff !

  2. Might want to add that the Island & Coral Princess were designed to cruise the Panama Canal . They just fit through the old locks ! They have the Pamama Canal cruise down to a T.

Have done the partial (10 day) on the Island and will do it again on the Coral next Feb.

The viewing area forward on the Caribe deck is outstanding while going through the locks !

    Enjoy the cruise !

  3. We have a Club Class mini on the first sailing of the Coral Princess with the new category of mini on 2/6/17.

Our main question right now is : We are traveling with a couple who have a balcony cabin ! In order to have our MDR seating still together I suspect we will have to give up our club class dining benefits !

Any ideas on that possible problem ?

  4. If you are sailing from an American port and returning to an American port and only sailing the Caribbean then the Passport Card works fine . No birth certificate required ! We've done 5 cruises now with the passport card with no problems . We've done Southern Carib, Panama Canal and Eastern Carib. Cruises with it .

  5. We have a club class mini suite on our next cruise ! Our traveling companions have the balcony stateroom right next to our stateroom ! We are Platinum princess cruisers ! They are new Princess cruisers ! Question: will our friends still be able to sit with us at our MDR table due to our "exclusive club class dining" and will they be able to ride our coat tails for priority embarkation since they will be traveling with us and arriving at the ship with us ?

It's their 50th wedding anniversary which has nothing to do with it but we just want them to to relax and enjoy the experience !

Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

We will be on the first Coral Princess cruise offering Club Class mini-suites!

  6. I also am a believer of making the best of things.

Our first cruise we didn't know what to expect anyway ! Our 2nd on Celebrity we had to skip 2 ports and one night it was so rough we could hardly keep stuff on our dining table ! What was the background music they were playing ? The theme music from "Titanic" .

On our 3rd cruise (carnival) my SO got food poisoning the last night at sea !

On one of our Princess cruises the toilet wasn't flushing properly - inconvenient yes, but not a disaster ! Had to make a couple trips to a public rest room which gave us some exercise.

Recently we lost water to our home for 1/2 a day . Oh dear, who do I complain to ! Shall I move ? The city didn't compensate us either !

Sometimes you just have to make the best of situations. At 80 years old I go with the flow - if it's flowing !

  7. On our very first cruise on another cruise line we watched a younger couple in their mid 30's enjoying the poolside activities, and also in the theatre at nite, sampling the drinks of the day in fairly decent quantities and being perfect hosts to friends in the vicinity by buying them drinks.

I happened to be near the couple at the passenger desk at the end of the cruise as he was questioning his bill for onboard expenses which contained expenses for over $1,500 in booze ! I'm sure he was highly thought of by his friends but maybe his wife questioned his judgement once they got home. This was only a 7 night cruise !

For us, our 7 night cruise liquor consumption would typically be in the $400 range for the 2 of us ! Not quite as bad ! Average of 5 drinks a day each.

    We're almost teetotalers !

  8. Been following this thread and finally had to put my 2 1/2 cents in. We sailed the Regal about a year ago and I have yet to get as low a fare for a mini-suite per day as on that cruise. Food was good in the MDR as usual, lots of space in the buffet area and enjoyed the entertainment especially Tom Franek at the piano.

We all have our different views - I think it's called "The eyes of the beholder"

  9. We also were on this Regal Cruise and pretty much agree !

We did not try the Crown or the International Cafe delights but we certainly agree with the comments relative to Alfrdo's - great service and Italian offerings .

We also tried the gelato booth and you can put on weight just looking at the offerings - very good at a reasonable price !

We also took a non-ship sponsored tour of St. Thomas and had no problem

getting a $25 tour which lasted almost 3 hours! Had toured St. Maarten on a previous cruise so passed on that one.

Also enjoy the almost constant entertainment day & night in the atrium - which I might add is beautiful !

The Regal was a joy to sail on !

  10. I am on vacation, I am paying a significant amount of money for the cruise which includes handling of my luggage. I have always had my luggage arrive in our stateroom by muster time ! Never had a problem .

Seems rediculous to me to be hauling suitcases around while getting to my stateroom !

Just one old man's opinion, which at 78 years young, I have the right to !

Everyone to their own thing !

Whichever cruise you're on - enjoy it !

  11. After our 1st 2 cruises, where we had an ocean view, and did not enjoy the spartan accomodations of the bathrooms we decided to try a mini-suite.

Just love the much nicer accomodations (room) in the bathroom, the sitting room and , of course, the balcony. Reminds me of my Navy days, sitting on the deck just watching the world go buy ! Love the ocean !

We have always booked the lowest category mini and, fortunately, have been upgraded to a better location category.

Fortunately we can afford a cruise a year in a mini !

  12. we also aregoing on the Regal in December. on the 6 cruises we've done out of Ft. Lauderdale we always use Park n'go . It is valet parking, they handle all your luggage and drop you off at the ship, again, handling all the luggage .

When we return we've never had to wait more than 20-25 min. for them to pick us up at the ship and take us directly to our car. once again, they handle they luggage.

Cost is about $7/day and you can book on-line ! Never had any problems with them!

and they give all in your car a cold bottle of water when you exit the parking lot to go home.

  13. I don't take vitamins, don't get flu shots, about the only thing I do is make sure I wash my hands after using the rest rooms. Fortunately I have never caught anything on our cruises. I guess I prescribe to the old theory, you gotta eat a peck of dirt before you die.

Because I am a laryngectomee (for the past 13 years) Drs. don't like me to fly because of airborne germs on an airplane but never commented on cruising except to take NORMAL precautions.

I think I just have a good, built up immune system.

My S.O. has never had a problem either getting ill on our cruises.

We are both in our late 70's !

Hoping for good health for all !

  14. We had a group of twelve and we sat 6 at two tables and rotated couples every night ? it worked perfectly and we never got a little bored by being the same for 10 nights ! The tables were right next to each other and we had the same waitstaff for both tables. The head waiter and Maitre d' set it up for us !
