1. Do not stay at this hotel! I stayed at the Best Western Plus Dania Beach Fl February 25, 2017. I had booked 2 rooms, one for myself and the other for my daughter and family.

As we were on the 3rd floor and as we were walking down the hall we noticed that it smelled musty. And the rooms also had a musty mildew smell. We turned on the a/c, and went out to get something to eat.

Upon returning the rooms still had the smell. My daughter went to the front desk to complain and they were very nonchalant about, offering her no resolution. We had no choice but to stay there, opening the window to at least have some fresh air to breath.

The room had seen better days, it was dingy and worn, especially the carpeting. The bathroom was horrendous. Mold had eaten through on the shower walls. It was disgusting! None of us took a shower as we didn't want to get near the mold.

Do not stay at this hotel!!! Especially if you have any breathing difficulties. My daughter has asthma and by morning was using her inhaler often.

I phoned Best Western Customer Care and they were of no help, saying that the hotel itself would have to rectify the problem as they are individually owned.

I tried too upload a photo of the shower but can't figure it out :(

  2. Maybe I have an over sensitive nose but I did occasionally smell something in the halls, midship, on deck 9 and 10.

We were on for the March 9th and 19th cruises in JS 9606. The bathroom had an odor, which I told the cabin about and he used something to rid, or mask it. However, the odor came back after a couple of hours. So I bought an air freshener in one of the ports to put in the bathroom which helped alot.

  3.
How big of a tip did you get?
I have a hell of a sense of humor...MOST OF THE TIME!!!

That still isn't as bad as being asked to carry someones bag at a airport when in FULL MILITARY UNIFORM...Strips up to my shoulder no less..Medals covering most of my upper chest.. That is when I lose it.. It has happened 4 different times..

They won't ever make that mistake again...
  4.
we have only run into a small handful of rude passengers. We sat with two couples, obviously vacationing together at breakfast. They were rude to the female waiter and kept correcting her English. We told her in front of them that we appreciated her English because we wished we were able to learn a second language and thought she was doing a great job. They were very quiet afterwards and we told the manager on the way out what a great job she did and how much we appreciated her lovely attitude when the guests were being so rude to her. There was a large family group with a woman who looked exactly like the old lady aunt on Family Vacation who somehow ended up on every tour we took. She stared at us the whole time with a nasty look. Later in the week, she ran over my foot with her walker as she stormed the path into the MDR without so much as looking back to see if I was crippled from her drive-by. .
You are my kind of person. You have me starting to think about posting some funny, and some not funny encounters during our cruises(INCLUDING BEING ORDERED TO CARRY ANOTHER PERSONS BAGS TO THEIR ROOM)
    Hell I was a cruiser too:eek:
