  1. Hi Nancy. I deliberately picked this travel week, thinking the fireworks on Oct 1st in Beijing will be the best ever. I might take a pass on the Wall (and the travel time to and fro) and do a personal tour of modern Beijing. I would like to see the University, and the large Silk mall, and have time to enjoy both. There may be other sights in the city that are modern wonders.

For what it's worth, I hope to take a tour of the Jewish Quarter in Shanghai. If you or anyone cares to do this, I will be happy to make the arrangements. To that end, I will post this note in your Roll Call too.

    Regards, Elliot

  2. For anyone who is traveling on the Sept. 29, 2015 Imperial China 15 Days Tour, I've started a Roll Call on Cruise Critic, under "All River Cruise Roll Calls"

We'd love to here from others who may be traveling with us!

    Nancy

I'll be travelling solo on the Sept 29 departure.

    Lambchops, thanks so much.

FYI, I understand the week of October 1 is the big national holiday in China. Expect very large crowds all over. Expect the Great wall to be impossibly crowded.

  3. A word about Swinger/lifestyle cruises.

First.... The ships are booked out as a charter to the clothing optional crowd.

Second .... poolside, hot tubs, and dance floors will likely have sexy touching going on, so if you are squeamish then a Swinger cruise will be a bad experience

Third.... nobody expects a non-swinger to participate in play with others. Generally, that is a crowd that is sensitive to pushy behaviour.

  4. I looked into this thread partly for *curiosity* and partly because I'm wondering how do the line and employees respond to people walking around w/o clothes on maybe getting a bit frisky? I can imagine many having religious or cultural qualms about that sort of libertine behavior (strictly speaking of the staff). Is there etiquette/rules of maybe keeping the "hot action" out of the public areas?

Sorry if my Qs seem silly, I can imagine myself in a staffer's shoes and thinking "oy vey, I'm going to have to wipe that seat again" :D

I'll ask the staffers on our next cruise. I imagine the responses will be broad ranging. Meanwhile, if there are playful couples going on the Dec 13, 2015 Eclipse, lets do some late night topless hot tub fun. Judy and Elliot

  5. Truly the BEST LS week you could ask for! Have been on the RCCL Freedom 2012 Swinger's Cruise and now we will be on the Celebrity Century out of LA to Mexico in May!!

    Awesome fun!!

Would you happen to be Mr. And Mrs C&C of the M4 website?

  6. Loved your reply post..especially about the jacuzzi! My apartment has a pool and jacuzzi and it's always full of kids..even in the evening. I like to go out at about 9:30 on a school night with my glass of wine and soak sans bathing suit..sadly I was invaded by young kids last time and they complained about the naked old lady...I can't complain about the kids though..what are kids doing in the pool at 9:30 on a school night anyhow? Shouldn't they be in bed?

Anyhow my question..As a new cruiser-what is a Take Over? Does this mean you just casually take the ship over and go butt naked in the pool because theres more of you etc?

Sorry to be so dumb about this but I really want to know how this works!

    Best wishes

    Elle (aka PlantCrone)

Takeover cruises are just that....a charter booking a whole ship so naked and party time runs a course without having to offend guests who do not appreciate public nudity or sexy touching.

My love and I are sometimes able to find hot tubs on the ships after hours to enjoy a naked romantic soak, but it's a rare treat. Hopefully, we can find a late night tub on the Silhouette.

  7. I played most nights aboard the Solstice last Xmas. They used Pokerpro machines, set to high greed rakes. But that was a minor problem. With no live dealer to regulate behaviour, a few fights broke out over bad ettiquette, such as coaching, and speaking in other languages during the game. I felt it was really stupid of Celebrity to run a poker room that way. After all, dealers are fairly inexpensive. Can anyone tell me about poker on the Poesia? Its my next cruise.
