Tried to book a cruise but my TA says the ship is at single capacity and Princess won't accept booking for one. She says that she has never run into this before. Cruise is in Dec 2023. Anyone else run into this roadblock,?

I experienced this for an April 2023 Cruise on Regal Princess.  Apparently, this is something new that Princess has embraced.  I have been sailing solo for over 15 years and was shocked when I tried to book online and it would not allow me so I called Princess and I was told no "single/solo" booking were allowed on that particular cruise, I could book other itineraries without a problem, only the one I truly wanted would not allow.  Not sure why they have chosen to do this as we solo travelers pay the base cruise fare for 2.  I guess we don't generate enough revenue that is needed to support specific itineraries.  I expressed my disappointment with letters/emails to corporate but I sure they went into a 'too bad" file. 😄😄

You should have received something - I did a similar  booking last week - and my flight was confirmed in an email with the subject "FLIGHTS by Celebrity Confirmation for Reservation ID....." at the same time (same day anyway) as my email with the invoice for our booking came in.

I also verify the booking by going to the airline's website and enter the airline confirmation code to check for the booking.

This will be my third cruise vacation without DH. He's staying home to work and take care of his mother. After our transatlantic cruise in the fall of 2019, he decided he did not want to risk being away from her in case anything happens.

I am also on this cruise.  I believe I met you and your DH on the Crown in 2019.  It was in the Piazza competition for Martinis.  He was also concerned about using the wi-fi calling to be able to stay in contact with his mother.  See you on board tomorrow.

  4. I did this cruise Aug 2019.  The scenery is beautiful and you if you love to photograph nature you will really enjoy.  Take an excursion that will take you out to the ice caps/sheets.  Along the way you will see lots of iceberg.  I was able to get an excursion in Qaqortoo from an independent operator and walked on the ice cap.

The Greenland ports are mostly fishing villages and in most cases the ship passengers will out number the residents.

DH called his mother. We managed to keep the call under three minutes. I'll let him call again from Bilbao or Lisbon later in the cruise. I love that we have the ability to make calls (even if they are costing us extra) and send and receive texts.

If your phone has wifi calling capabilities you can use it and the calls and texts are free.  That's how I'm making/receiving calls & texts.

  6. My booking says 22 days - E910A (actually 22 nights on board)

    April 11 - Vancouver

    April 18 - Los Angeles

    May 3 - Fort Lauderdale

As mentioned before, I booked it as one cruise although we will be dropping off and picking up passengers in Los Angeles. In any event, I am just happy to be cruising since my last cruise was B2B - 21 days - Caribbean 2017. :D Have been doing some land tours recently (ND/SD/CO/Utah/Wy) and this past June - Alaska/Yukon. Of course, many trips to Florida as oldest DS has property there.

    Cheers

You can check in your Cruise Personalizer. Under Captain Circle Cruise History it will show both past and future cruises and the credits received or to be receive.

  7. Recently got off a B2B on the Regal. Just realized that we were not asked to fill out the usual custom form, nor were we asked if we were bringing in any bottles of alcohol. Very unusual! :cool:Is this a new policy?

    TIA:cool:

Was in effect last year. Only required to fill out form if you exceed your allowance.

  8. I think he was referring to the unlimited internet minutes that Platinum used to get before Princess limited them to free minutes based on length of the cruise. It was because of abuse. It was done several years ago-long before the loss of free internet for suites.

Ethel you are correct. I was referring to the platinum/elite members unlimited minutes.

  9. Absolutely I am serious.

Those people KNOW that they are stealing, pure and simple and their actions could affect thousands of passenger's benefits.

    Mike:)

If I remember correctly when internet minutes were unlimited people allowed others to use them which resulted in Princess limiting the minutes (at least this was the reasoning people stated). If true this could also happen with the laundry/cleaning if Princess does an analysis of elite passengers and amount of bags submitted .

Thanks so much for sharing your cruise experience. I’ll be boarding the ship tomorrow and looking forward to seeing all the things captured in your pictures. After booking the Royal I too was skeptical about going after reading all the negative comments and I have to agree with the others that because you took the time out of your vacation to share information/pictures I can’t wait to board.

    Safe travels home.
