  1. Thanks for the advice

I have booked rafting in tauranga and a dolphin encounter in akaroa.

We aren't really into lord of the rings sets.

I'll review the melbone advice and make plans.

Any good wine tours out of Wellington or bay of islands?

Also, suggestions on best fish and chips? I remember having some amazing fish called blue (maybe) cod but can't remember where.

  2. We did this cruise two years ago...and I just rebooked for Nov 11th. On our first cruise, this day was spectacular and I don't remember seeing any wildlife expect a few birds. The landscape is breathtaking! I took 100's of pics; one currently hangs in our guest room. I can't wait to see it again.

Oh, we were on the 8th floor balcony and never left the room. We ordered food and wine off the TV/room serve and just enjoyed an amazing day just in our room. It was one of my favorite days ever....

  3. Hi - I will be on the Celebrity Solstice sailing Nov 11th and could use some advice. We did this cruise two years ago and our favorite memory was the Kangaroo sanctuary in Tasmania. Well, this trip is going to Melbourne instead. I'm excited about that because I have not seen this city and have heard a lot of great things. Anyway, our ports are below, are there any kangaroo interaction type tours I should look into?

Our other interests are wild life and wine tasting. I plan to go river rafting in Tauranga and swim with dolphin in Akaroa. I will book a pre-trip Waiheke wine tour soon. All other dates are open. Please send on any suggestions.

  4. Hi there,

My wife and I are on the HOTS July 17th sailing and I had a couple questions for the board:

    1) I didn't realize I had the opportunity to book my main dining time each day. This is our first Oasis class cruise. I have booked a few specialty restaurants but am now concerned my main dining experience may be in the buffet if only late times are available. All available reservations are very late for us as we typically eat dinner before 8 PM. Are these pre-cruise main dining reservations necessary?

    2) For the day at sea (day 7), I booked Izumi but I see Wonderland has a lot of availability. My wife isn't too adventurous of an eater and I see reviews talking about this being a great restaurant for groups. Is this a romantic restaurant for two love birds? Can they accommodate a less adventurous eater?

    3) Any advice on things we should do early in the cruise before they get "found out"? Zip line? Slides? I did book the puzzle on day 1 but haven't read much about it. What else?

    4) I booked a DIY wine tasting tour in France. Anyone had luck bringing wine of the ship? We will likely buy a few bottles.

I plan to write a review when we return. Please let me know if there is anything future cruisers are interested in hearing about and I'll do my best to look into it. We are in our mid-forties and do not have children. This site has helped my on many great vacations! Thanks
