  1. I came prepared with my own hair products (Bigelow) in February as I was in a V1 cabin on Reglection. The subject of toiletry brands below concierge has come up, so as an experiment I used the provided toiletries to see how they worked for me. They were just fine, and I never unpacked the hair products I’d brought along. Was it Bigelow? I’m uncertain, but the lotion in the bathroom was the in the same  Bigelow Lavender Peppermint pump bottles that have been provided in suites and Aqua Class cabins I’ve been in.

  2. I really like the corner aft Sky Suites. My sister and I were in one for her first Celebrity cruise in October and she liked it so much she chose the same cabin when she booked her next cruise. I like the shaded/protected ones underneath the Oceanview Cafe deck.

  3. In 2015 when Luminae was launched they did serve a palate cleanser as well as an amuse-bouche. They still serve the amuse-bouche, setting it on the charger and then removing the charger when you’ve finished the amuse-bouche.

When LLP launched the Luminae dining rooms she had big plans. I remember there being mention of artisanal chocolates, a different flavor each day. She threw all sorts of things at the wall, and it was interesting to see what stuck.

    Hello,

We will be on the Beyond, 8 night ABC islands on April 27th sailing.  I noticed that elegant night (to us the best menu) is on the fourth day when we are docked in Aruba until 11pm.  We will be spending the day on the island, curious as to how late can we show up for dinner in the MDR?  Is it possible we can walk in for 10pm dinner.  Does anybody know what time they shut the doors for dinner?  Thank you.

With 2 sea days at each end of your cruise you won’t have to worry about Aruba being a chic night. Enjoy!

  5. Elite status on Celebrity will entitle you to one free bag of laundry. There will be a bag in your stateroom (closet most likely, but ask your stateroom attendant if you can’t find it). It’s for up to 30 items, and they will be returned washed and folded in about 2 days. You need to tally your items on the laundry slip (4 tee shirts, 2 shorts, 2 pairs socks etc.) then write Elite Free Wash and Fold on the slip.  It’s a nice perk, as I can get my travel clothes freshened up for my return home.

There’s a gelato counter near Cafe Al Bacio, and you’re entitled to a free scoop once per cruise.

  6. I have been on both deck 6 and 9 on Millennium. I have previously posted a video of my cabin balcony on deck 6 which you saw. To me, the lifeboats were not an issue.

Cabin 9123 is an accessible cabin. It was very large, the bathroom was very large with a walk in shower. I found the bathroom lacking in storage, or at least it did before revolutionizing.  The mid-ship location was terrific. That balcony has a deep overhang, so taking photos from the balcony tended to be difficult. But I’m a shade lover and I’d be happy with it again if I was given it on a suite guarantee booking.

If someone comes to the Celebrity forum and says ABC is cheaper and better,I don’t think it’s a burden to ask a simple question.  I asked one question maybe two, not twenty.

What I asked for is for people to be specific so we can compare prices.

Again, you’re asking people to do the grunt work. You could start a new thread asking for more details. If Travel Agents are involved they won’t be able to mention those details on this board.

When Regent advertises a veranda SUITE, is that really a suite?  Which ones are true suites?  How do they categorize cabins?

You could do a lot of this research by using Google and watching video tours of the various cabin categories. It’s a lot to ask of someone on the Celebrity board to answer all of your queries. If you’re truly interested in Regent put some effort in. You could start reading the Regent posts here on CC and ask your question there, too. Just some suggestions to get you started.

Thank you.  That's the metaphor I was looking for.  While I will be very relieved if they do return the butler service that was part of the package that I booked, it's still annoying that they are trying this and that hoping that people won't notice enough to sail another line. It would have been much better for them to not take them away in the first place.  Since I don't have a time machine, I guess this is the best outcome I can hope for.

As far as I know, the higher-ups at Celebrity have never acknowledged that the current Sky Suite situation regarding the removal of butlers is any less of an experience than it once was. Clearly it has changed, and if they were utilizing the “butler team” approach they describe we would still be able to arrange afternoon snacks without having to phone room service. It was so nice coming back from an excursion and finding something to snack on! We had some that did not include lunch, and we’d arrive back at the ship hangry, tired, and needing a shower. We felt so spoiled by our butler!

We did the above ship tour yesterday and it was horrid! The resort was very full so chairs at the pool and beach were few and far between- no sectioned off area for us as in past beach excursions. No umbrellas as advertised- told that because of wind, they don’t have them. Many resorts on the beach used them.  Cups and plates left everywhere. Drinks and food included- BUT water given in cups not bottles, only Dominican alcohol brands allowed for our group. Then the food! We ate at the buffet on the beach. I am not a picky eater but this food was inedible. Hamburgers and hot dogs made with some kind of fillers, fried chicken parts cut into small, little pieces. One man on our tour said this was the first $90 lunch of 2 plates of French fries he ever had! This was a pricy tour that Celebrity should be ashamed of offering it to their clientele. Cancel if you can!!

Please use the QR code supplied for comments on shore excursions. They need to reconsider this tour.

Would like to know how also. I receive Celebrity e-mails everyday with the normal promotions but how do you get these e-mails on exciting deals. We are Elite plus and receive none of these.

    Cheers!

How good the food pairing one is depends on who is running it.

The food pairing event was a bit more serious.  You sit down at tables and there are maybe 4 or so wines and a small plate with different foods.  The instructor then has you pair each wine with a different food to see how the food and wine interact. Interesting if you have never done it before.

What sort of foods do they pair with the wines? Tiny nibbles? An olive, a piece of chocolate, a cheese cube sort of pairing?

  13. I’ve been in many of the angled hump balcony cabins. I loved the size of the balcony, the shade, and the ability to be well under cover if it was raining. What I’m not crazy about is the limited view. Next month I’m trying a cabin on the flat portion of the hump.

As to which I prefer, I’ve only done an aft on deck 12 because it offers some privacy and extra cover. I believe those are all Sky Suites though, so I’d choose the hump.

There's something that's been eating away at me for some time.  I've spoken to many Navy Veterans and they all agree on this subject.  When giving the name of a ship you should not precede it with "The".  It is not "The" Beyond, "The" Apex, or "The" Millenium.   It is simply Beyond, Apex, and Millenium.  Refer to a ship as you would refer to your spouse.  They are not "The" Elvis and "The" Priscilla.  They are simply Elvis and Priscilla!  And while we are at it.  You should never shorten  a ship's name.  It is Millenium, not "Millie".  You wouldn't call Titanic...well, you get the idea.  As you can see, I have way topo much time on my hands!

    Elvis

Guilty as charged! Once I understand the correct usage I’m embarrassed enough to never make the mistake again. So thank you for that, as I ’ve often wondered which way was correct.

We have an OBC that we would like to use for dinner at Sushi On Five.  I noticed there is no fixed price.  How do I go about applying my OBC?

Your meal gets billed to your account and your OBC will offset the cost.
