  1. I just want the choice of a drinks package. Cant believe P&O don't give you at least the option. My drinking offends no-one. In fact its mainly the cost of soft drinks that is offensive. Think even with the card its £35.00 for the equivalent of 15 cans. 24 cans at Tesco is often £5.00!!!! That's one hell of a mark up!

  2. It is extremely short sighted of P&O not to offer a drinks package, or even a proper soft drinks package.

Their drinks may be slightly cheaper, so make the drinks package slightly cheaper.

I think all of their competitors offer packages. Last year on Princess people were saying they wouldn't book P&O because of the lack of a drinks package.

Come on P&O, your sister companies offer it so get on with it!

  3. Wife NEEDS (apparently) to know where she can get posh coffee!!!

You know the sort of coffee that takes ten minutes to order and looks like a muddy puddle with froth!

Seem to remember that most bars have 'POSH' coffee machines but last year on Pee & Owe Costa was really the only place to get it.

Some one please help before I divorce her!

  4. The Strath boats were liners. As i guess all off the ships were in the 30s.

The cruise ships have only had white hulls and buff funnels.

Think the Oriana 2 was possibly their first purpose built cruise ship. Might be Spirit of London was the first.

  5. As far as I am aware no P&O cruise ships had black funnels. The far east liners serving India etc certainly had black funnels. Cruise ships and Liners are two completely different things. Can you imagine if Cunard changed their funnel!!

Surely history is worth preserving, P&O was a huge global company that should be remembered, just like the quatered flag should be kept.

I guess the P&O box boats had blue funnels at one stage, so it is in keeping with at least some sort of P&O history!

  6. Was mate on a reefer in the north sea, 42 degrees to port and 45 degrees to starboard for 3 rolls. It was very dangerous as we had deck edge immersion and had to alter course to escape the roll. On a 10000grt ship but scared me. Cruise ships seem to have so much stability that the roll is quite quick. The old man on a Princess ship said they had a GM of about 1.7m where on commercial ships we used to only have 0.3m so a lot slower roll.
