  1. We are doing our first fly cruise soon. We are sailing from Malta; from what I have found out the ship should be departing around 8pm. As we do not board the ship until roughly 4 - 4:30 and some passengers flights do not arrive until 6pm, what time do they do muster drill? We were trying to work this out as we have fixed time dining of 6:30 and have visions of us sitting at our table with our life jackets in hand ready to drop our cutlery at the sound of the alarm!

  3. We are doing our first fly cruise this year. Because we have added an extra couple of days in our embarkation resort onto the end of our cruise, we are flying in and out with a different airline to others on the same cruise. My question is, once you've checked your suitcases in at the airport, is this the last time you see them until you get on the ship? Or do we need to collect them off the luggage carousel at the airport and take them to the vehicle that is transferring us to the ship? I hope this makes sense, thanks.

  4. Thanks for the replies.we are taking my 80 year old mom with us on this cruise; it will be her first one, we don't want her to have the single cabin and then have a bad experience due to noise. She's not the best sleeper as it is. Therefore we are trying to decide if she would be better sharing with me and hubby takes the single; he's more than happy to do this or, let her have the single and see how she gets on. Decisions, decisions!

  5. I received a call this morning from a very nice lady who introduced herself as phoning on behalf of Christopher Edginton, P & O director. She couldn't apologise enough and went on to explain that it was a bug in their computers which had caused this to happen. She said I wasn't the only one it had happened to so I hope you've all checked your bank accounts since Monday. She said that any costs I'd incurred were to be paid by P & O and also offered me a free bottle of champagne in my cabin. When I explained that we would already be receiving one (perks of booking a superior deluxe cabin) she offered me £50 onboard credit instead which she said was the equivalent to the cost of the champagne. It must be the good stuff then! :) I accepted the onboard credit but more importantly I'm just glad it's all sorted.

So chaps, if you've recently paid for your holiday direct with P & O I'd check your accounts.

  6. OK, so obviously it shouldn't have happened but I don't doubt that P&O will cover the costs you have incurred and hopefully offer you something by way of apology but to think that it will affect your credit history is getting carried away a bit.

If you had arranged to pay automatically and then paid a few days early then this may be where the problem occurred. Did you check this when you paid?

In any event, it will get sorted out and I do hope you don't let it affect your holiday.

I hadn't arranged to pay automatically but I did pay early which I wouldn't have thought would cause these types of problems; paying late, then yes, maybe. It won't affect my holiday because I won't allow it to.

  7. Would any of you kind folks be able to let me know the e-mail for Christopher Edginton please. I've had a very up setting experience this morning with P & O. I paid my final balance on Saturday to them by debit card then this morning I had a phone call from my bank to say I'm £600 overdrawn because P & O have taken the balance again. I've never been overdrawn therefore I have no overdraft facility. I've spoken to P & O who have admitted that it was an error on their part. They're going to contact my bank to let them know but it could take 48hrs to sort resulting in me being overdrawn with no money for that period of time and incurring overdrawn charges because of their error which they have admitted to. I feel that the powers that be need to be made aware of this.
