  1. I am currently shopping around for insurance, and got some great advice from the insurance thread, but I have a few questions that perhaps someone who knows a lot more about Carnival's specific policies than I do can help. Here is the reason, I only need to insure the costs that are non-refundable, and the amount insured makes a substantive difference in the cost of said insurance.

Here is my hypothetical situation. My plane is severely delayed, and I do NOT make it to embarkation and MY cruise never happens. What costs of the cruise will be refunded by Carnival's policies. Most particularly it is the cost of the Cheers Program. Imagine I am a no-show.

Flight: Not part of Carnival, so I know that needs to be insured.

    Hotel: Same as the flight.

Cruise Fare: I know this is non-refundable, so it needs to be insured.

Excursions: I haven't booked any yet, and likely won't so non-issue other than curiosity.

Pre-Paid Gratuities: If I basically don't make it on board, are these refundable?

Port-Fees: If I basically don't make it on board, are these refundable?

Cheers: If I basically don't make it on board, are these refundable?

The gratuities, port-fees, and cheers will be close to a third of the pre-paid cost of my vacation. So if they are refunded if I fail to attend the cruise, then not insuring them makes sense as it shaves a significant amount of unnecessary cost on the insurance.

I spoke to a rep at Carnival who confirmed that those three expenses would be refunded, but I don't always trust everyone 100%. Any guidance, or experience that you have to offer would be helpful! Thank you so much!

Where are you flying from that you think your plane on the DAY BEFORE the cruise will be so delayed?

  2. I also do not see any mention of any other "fresh squeezed" juices like lime juice, grapefruit juice, grape juice, apple juice, etc. BUT you want fresh squeezed orange stated specifically. And since it is not mention specifically as being excluded it must be included. Makes no sense at all.

Because they don't offer these juices as fresh squeezed.

  3. I hate that 8 by 10 is the only size picture you can get on the newer ships. I wonder why that is? The older ships you can choose any size.

Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app

Not sure if anyone answered this, but ALL they are printing is the 8x10 paper size, if you look at the options, its always 8X10, 2 5X7, and so on. I don't remember seeing a 6x8 option this time

  4. Thanks everyone for the replies!!!

I am going out of Port Canaveral if that matters???

I have cleared my cookies and temp internet files and the health form is still not there.

Just weird that is wasn't there.

They answer the questions on their smartphone scanner when they are checking you in.

  5. Mischelle has already answered there is NO change. Diamond/Platinum still have early luggage and cabin access.

You miss the point of my post. Mary has worked just as long as Mischelle in answering our questions. So let's think about this. Someone who has worked for Carnival for almost 10 years, advises someone that this is no longer a perk....then someone else whose worked there for just as long hurries up to correct it.

You don't think that's odd? That the website working changed JUST FOR THIS ITEM? Like I said, announced too early.

  6. You don't. It's gone! That's the point. Up until recently it was listed and everyone knows D/P had immediate access to their cabins upon embarkation. Now it's not there. Check in and boarding are separate and still the same.

No, First access to stateroom has NEVER been listed on the list of perks on the VIFP chart. It was only included in the FTTF facts. I think they just did it for people who were D/P. Everyone knows, BUT it was not officially written anywhere except the FTTF page?

  7. Are we talking actual embarkation to the ship, or just early cabin access?

Many people, including myself, are Platinum status and have reported not having their cabins ready early in the past couple of months. But, I hadn't heard anything about the early embarkation.

I think they posted the wrong headline on this. It had nothing to do with embarkation it had to do with CabinAccess. Also, their website has removed ALL references to early cabin access for Plat/Diam like it used to be on the FTTF page. BUT the other items still say "Already applies to Plat and Diamond guests". I think it's not an error, they just announced too soon.

Mary and Mischelle know EXACTLY what is going on in that company, they've been taking questions for years now.
