Two lessons learned from the NCL refund fiasco:

    1.  Only charge with the American Express Card (the only card that promptly issued chargebacks), and

    2.  Never sail on NCL again.

True but my Chase Reserve Visa card also made my credits permanent about 2 weeks after AMEX made it permanent.

Day 91 ..Canceled on Mar 6 and no update from NCL. I did get my money back from my credit card companies as I won the dispute but NCL never got back to CC or me.

I read that if you dispute a credit card transaction, you will be banned from that cruise line for life

First of all thats not true. And I don't care a crap about NCL. I am never giving my business to them anyway.

Just got my refund from NCL.  All charges made to my credit card including the insurance payment have been refunded as a credit.  I guess they changed their policy.  Now I'm happy.

when did you cancel? how many days passed?

All these fake reports on here about Credit Cards not allowing charge backs need investigation, you should have gone immediately for charge back, I did with all airlines and got credited immediately, if a company doesn’t give you a option or reasonable time for refund, 90 days after such a date is rubbish, totally unreasonable, it’s your cash.

NCL have acted for their benefit not the customer, they keep advertising cruises and taking funds in full knowledge the cruise will not sail, disgraceful behaviour.

Most of the cheerleaders have status with NCL and don't want NCL to go bankrupt as they would lose out a lot.

  5. should there be a 'disputed with credit card' column to track who disputed and got money back? I got my refund in full using disputes with AMEX and Chase Visa.

Just today Chase VISA made my dispute credit permanent. AMEX had done the same a few weeks back. But NCL still hasn't responded to either the credit cards or myself. Unbelievable, how a company can steal in daylight and not be held accountable.

Just got word from Citi that I lost the dispute. I find it completely ridiculous that NCL has the resources to fight CC disputes but doesn't have the ability to refund us. I love NCL, but I may be jumping ship after this fiasco. Absolutely terrible customer service.

sad to hear but can you give details on why CC dispute was lost? what did NCL say to your CC company?

  8. I paid using 2 credit cards. One was Amex and the other was Chase Visa.

AMEX gave me temporary credit on Mar 21 and made it permanent yesterday May 6. Still waiting to hear from Chase (Visa).

I cancelled on march 5 when ncl was offering 100% refund if you cancelled at least 90 days before cruise.  They told me full refund in 7-10 days.  After 3 weeks of waiting And no refund,  i disputed the charge.  On 4/1 ncl credited my credit card.  I thought i was done.  Then on 4/23 ncl Charged my credit card for a 25% cancellation fee.  This is wrong.  The chargeback happened when the 6/28 cruise was officially cancelled.  I am angry and won’t cruise with them again.  We are platinum plus.

I cancelled on Mar 6 , similar situation for 100% refund. I even have email from my TA showing the full 100% refund back to my CC. When I did not see the credit, I disputed and I still have my tempy credits on my cards. Disputes are still open with Chase and Amex.
