  1. I'll be on the Bliss in less than 2 weeks. I've been on the Escape and also RCL's Oasis class ships. I really appreciate the heads up and tips here and if the wait times are too long, I can always take the stairs a few floors (we're on 12). Gotta walk off all the food and drinks anyway!

  2. I have used both the folding cubes and the  packing cubes. With so many people and only 1 shelf for each, I agree that the packing cubes would be a better choice. They can be stacked on each other so that each shelf holds multiple cubes and it will also help with keeping clothing sorted rather than having to dig through one or two folding storage cube with everything mixed together.

  3. I purchased some silicone straws for our next cruise. They are easily foldable for carrying around in a plastic bag in your pocket for if/when you need them. I reckon I can also shorten them easily with a pair of scissors if they threaten to tip my drink over. They also came with a brush to clean them.

  4. I agree with what others have said about it not being worth saving $60 but to me, it would also depend on the length of the flight to get to LAX. If it's a longer flight to get there, would you rather spend the better part of the night cramped trying to sleep on the airplane (8:30 am arrival) or perhaps try to find something more comfortable at/near LAX to catch a few hours sleep (12:25 am arrival)? The Hilton LAX lobby sounds like the way to go if that is the case.

  5. Almost as bad as the guy who sang all 99 verses of "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" after we asked him to stop smoking cigars non-stop on his balcony.

I would have started singing along with him. My voice is so bad that he'd be begging me to stop after the first verse.

  6. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]they have a 5 pack of tampons and a hairbrush that do the same thing. You could always get the full set to get to the 1.75 [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Ummm, ma'am? Why do you need so many tampons and hairbrushes for a 7 night cruise? ;p

  7. I see this a lot, but I didn't have good luck with it on our cruise last year. (Carnival Ecstasy) I bought heavy duty magnetic hooks. They stuck to the wall just fine until I tried to use it. Then it slid down the wall.

I wasn't even hanging something heavy. A lightweight sweater, I believe. It was very disappointing.

I bought some great magnets for our last cruise from Amazon. They easily held wet bathing suits without sliding down the wall. I can't say if they actually held 18 lbs but they held very well.

This hanging organizer was great for shoes and other little things:

  8. *stands up* My name is Jenni and I am a compulsive cruise prepper. *group hug* :');p:');p:')

I do a lot of the things mentioned here. My husband doesn't appreciate it until we are on board and I know what's going on and he doesn't LOL.

He often tells me "Relax, Francis"

  9. No, but on our first cruise (before CC) we made the mistake of engaging in polite conversation one evening with a couple who recognised us from the newlywed game. After that it seemed like every day we'd run into them before dinner and have to spend cocktail hour talking to them and dodging a table share. They were nice enough, but cruising is our alone time and we don't want to socialise to that extent. We're polite (DH is English so he's super polite) and we felt awkward about saying anything to them about wanting to be alone.

After that, we decided to lay low and keep to ourselves. So based on that experience, not really a "weird line of thinking" at all.

So you avoid speaking to anyone on a cruise because of that one bad experience? I'm pretty sure that after the first time I had to spend cocktail hour with them, I'd have an excuse ready in case I ran in to them again. "Oh no, I have a flat foot and have to go back to the room and change it!" :p

  10. I've used CC for most of my cruises (less than 10 so far) but joined the first Roll Call for my upcoming cruise on the Escape at the end of this month. Decided to sign up for the M&G as well for the first time and will probably participate in the Pub Crawl if the M&G isn't too awkward (by awkward, I mean me. Hubby can talk to anyone!) . Glad to see others posting their experiences because I wondered if we would be setting ourselves up for being annoyed since we enjoy each other's company and don't cruise to make new friends. I feel better now knowing that we aren't expected to become one big happy family but hope to meet some nice people who I can at least say hello to if I see them around. Someone on our roll call posted about making cabin door signs with CC and your username...no way am I posting anything with BUTTWIG on my door because that is just asking for trouble, even from strangers who have no idea what CC is! :P

  11. I'm going to do my good deed for the day (so I can post more snarky stuff later and not feel bad about it LOL).

I live about an hour from Miami as well (hello, neighbor?) and have found that I prefer to pay to park at the port rather than save a few $$ and have to deal with a shuttle. Some of the shuttle lots in Miami don't seem very secure to me either, so for the convenience and peace of mind, I park at the port.

  12. I made lanyards with a small snap only for our next cruise due to the UBP (usually hubby carries a card since I don't have pockets and he can charge to our room). Planning on punching a hole in the card and attaching it to the snap for easy removal to scan. Too much trouble to dig it out of a pouch.

  13. There are some good photos of all the Escape bar menus on this page... Scroll down and click on the links. http://eatsleepcruise.com/2016/01/norwegian-escape-bars/

Thank you, that is what I was looking for! They are a little older but it seems they don't change it up much. Mmmmm several delicious IPAs and even Cigar City's Maduro Brown. That qualifies as breakfast beer...since I'll be on a cruise ;p

If the menus are any different, I'll post them when I get back.
