  1. Hello, has anyone had recent experience doing a Mayan ruin tour when your ship leaves at 2 pm?

I have made one attempt to "talk" with Native choices via email to confirm they can make this time frame, but the answer I had back to not answer my question.

It seems they have a tour that would work, but I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have done this.

    Thanks very much.

  2. There are much better reviews of the NCL Baltic cruise than I can provide.

It was a great itinerary on a lovely ship.

This post is to highly recommend joining your RollCall and going to the Meet and Greet.

The crew of the Getaway helped arrange a very nice M&G on our recent sailing, it was on the first Sea Day in a room set aside in Cagneys. The friendly staff provided name tags, markers and cards with names and numbers of key personnel.

I was thrilled to see the personable cruise director Andre there, along with the charming hotel director Errol.

NCL and the Getaway crew really cares about passenger ideas and concerns and we were shown this throughout our cruise.

This was our first large ship sailing, and it is very nice to run into a new acquaintance while on board or an excursion.

So be a joiner, introduce yourself at the M&G, you won't regret it!

  3. We are on Getaway July 1 out of Warnmunde. It seems most start cruise the day before in Copenhagen.

Has anyone boarded at 2nd stop? And can you advise on how it all works?

E-Docs say boarding starts at 12 and ship leaves 10 pm. We will likely get there around 5pm.

When do we do drill? Will it take long for suitcases?

Thanks for any info and suggestions

  4. Hello, has anyone used tour shuttle yet?

Looking to go from Warnmunde to Tegel with 4 people July 10 2017

    Thank you

    ote=nabela56;52477469]Hi Lorraine

Since we will be arriving at Warnemunde by cruise liner at 8.00 we decided on a private mini van pick up at 9.00.

Our flight is at 14.30 from Tegel Berlin airport and it takes approx 3 hours to reach Tegel Airport. This should leave us with ample time at the airport, about 2 hours before our flight.

    Regards

    Noel

  5. I have to disagree with all of the comments saying NCL does not do enrichment.

While we have only done one European cruise (Italy, Greece, Turkey) so far, the port lectures from CD Gary were outstanding.

He even went to the effort of telling us, come to the front of the ship as we sail into Istanbul, and I will point out the landmarks to orientate yourself as you leave the ship. Even tho I have been there before, this reminder was very helpful.

And Gary of his staff would be on the gangway at each port for last minute advice on our way out. And always there to greet us as we come back.

Yes, everyone does their homework before a cruise, but the additional insight from the CD was wonderful.

  6. Thanking for sharing Lara, and best wishes for your marriage.

Finding your soul mate is a wonderful way to end the first chapter of your adult life and I am so happy you are including us in the next chapter.

I am sure you will be very successful in your new career in the US, you clearly are very good at communicating, and seem able to empathize with all around you.

Hopefully there are many more trips for you and M, Bon Voyage!

  7. Hi stayed here last year pre cruise

Just one night, took shuttle to port in morning

It was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in

Pool area great, h and I enjoyed hot tub with a drink talking to other snow birds also going on cruises

Favorite part was early morning walk along water thru what must be a very high rent district

And easy walk to restaurants and a grocery store when we arrived

I posted photos on tripadvisor Feb 2015

    Enjoy!

  8. Agree logic says they should follow the letter of the law.

I am just advising to be patient as my experience has been that US Customs agents do not take kindly to a lesson in US International Law.

It is a control thing, this one person can either A) accept your docs or

    B) ask you and your family to step out of line, wait for supervisor etc just in general take time from you

You are in the right and you will prevail it is all about how long it may take

  9. My experience: yes the law says a copy of birth certificate is enough.

But be prepared for a grumpy customs worker who does not care what the treaty says on closed loop sailings, they like to see passports.

So when confronted with this, just do your best to keep calm and hope the worker will see reason (and if necessary keep hot tempered spouse away).

We were able to get through on way home thru NYC, but it was trying, and my 10 yr old almost forgot his birthdate and middle name when asked (interrogated by customs).

We now have passports for boys. While law is on our side, one mean customs worker could delay us for hours if they so choose.
