  1. The crew doesn't need to listen and they don't care.

Well then I hope that you never find yourself fighting cancer like my husband is. KETO helps patients with their chemotherapy. But then again, it's none of yours nor the crews business the reason behind medical needs and special diet requests!!!!!!:mad::mad:

I guess some things never change here on the Carnival Boards and Cruise Critic! Exactly why I try to avoid both.....

  2. If you booked and paid for all the bookings, I would think you should be able to use it all less the penalties as a future cruise credit. If the others booked and paid for their own, it may not be available. You probably need to call Carnival and find out for sure.

Also, did you get the cancellation emails for both cabins or just yours?

Yes I got them for both. I have them saved on my laptop so I will place a call into Carnival. Thanks!

  3. Were the bookings Early Saver?

Were the cancellations after the final Payment Deadline?

Were the other cabins booked under your credit card?

    Ken

Were the bookings Early Saver? Yes, $50 penalty per person considered

Were the cancellations after the final Payment Deadline? No

Were the other cabins booked under your credit card? I don't remember, I want to say no.

  4. I canceled a cruise with Carnival last year due to a family member falling ill. I had other relatives too that were traveling in a second cabin which was linked to ours that had also canceled. Could I use the deposit that was used on the second cabin linked to ours as well? I hate to see money go to waste. Even after penalties there's a few hundred sitting in limbo. Thanks in advance!

  5. I loved the Getaway. Despite having recieved devastating news reguarding my husbands health just before we left. What we thought was going to be a "Blues Cruise" turned out to be an outstanding time. We had so much to do, the only time we were reminded of our dire situation was him having to take the trolly at harvest caye. This very well may have been our last vacation together, I pray not, but if it was then I couldn't be happier. The staff is absolutley top notch and the ship was beautiful. Food was great at the specialty restaurants. Shows were outstanding!

If the chemo buys us a few more years, then we probally will do Alaska next followed by another trip on the Getaway. (if that tells you how much we love it)

  6. We brought one of these on our first cruise. We quickly learned that it makes the room look messy and cluttered. I’d rather have my stuff put away than hanging there as if it’s a decoration. It’s ugly and in the way, and there is plenty of storage in the cabins for small items. Leave the shoe holders at home.

I use it in the bathroom. It's perfect for the toiletries you can pack it already organized and know that your steward isn't touching your mouthwash or other personal effects. Seriously did he or she just clean the toilet then wipe your counter picking up your floss........

  7. Off of GW on Sunday. My typical day consisted of 2 mimosas at breakfast. A bahama mama before going ashore. A bushwacker or two after port. A couple of glasses of wine with dinner and to top off the night a dirty martini with Greygoose. (some nights 2 martinis).

I spaced out my drinks, wasn't falling over drunk and didn't have to worry how much any of it would cost in the end. Though one night the dirty martinis were exceptionally good & I had a few more than I should have ;-) It's NCL feel free to do what you want!

  8. :loudcry: I lost my 14kt gold diamond earrings on the Getaway! I already contacted NCL and will file a claim with insurance soon. But by chance anyone going soon and is in room 9712.....

The monetary value is a big loss, but the sentimental value is priceless! They are two toned white/gold and have diamonds on both the oblong loops that face forward.

  9. Not to be disrespectful but the expectation of no medical bills when a patient dies is no where close to reality. You would have the same scenario at any hospital. It is an insurance issue.

ONLY in common law state. When my husband passes, I am not responsible for any of his debt. Now if it is a joint account yes I am also responsible. We are in the process of closing joint accounts and refinancing our truck under his name only. This will include is medical bills as well. I am working closely now with our estate attorney so in the end. They don't rob me of the little life insurance he is leaving us.

  10. I just lost my mother to stage four brain cancer in October. Our last cruise together was a couple of years ago as she was slowing down.

We've talked many times about the cruises and trips we've taken and we are both in agreement that our favorite cruise was our south America cruise on the NCL Sun. We love the aft PHs and had 9076 both Sun cruises. I don't know if I will ever take a cruise that tops that one. For many reasons.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I recently lost my Father then my Aunt. It's so hard to loose the loved ones we looked up to all our lives. Stay strong and know she is at peace and watching over you.

  11. Sorry to hear that. Having gone through this just last January with a family member with liver and pancreatic cancer. If you want to go, go now, don't wait pack up and go. Have them pick the location. Things will get in the way if you don't go early and your loved one may not go.

We are leaving Sunday on the Getaway and he's looking forward to it. We planned it long before his diagnosis for our 20th Anniversary. So at least we have this one. I am looking for that special cruise, for when our 11 year olds are out of school and he's in between treatments. Live for today and pray for a miracle.
