For 'fully vaccinated' it's still 2 days.  3 days is for 'up-to-date', ie had booster.  Did the report specifically say that it was someone who'd had the booster who was refused?

I'm on the same cruise as you and will be tested on Thursday at Heathrow, using the same test for my entry to the US and the cruise.  I've downloaded a copy of the wording from the HAL website to take with me in case check-in staff aren't fully aware.

We are also on this trip, 1st timers with HAL. We are flying out friday from LHR, tests booked for thursday afternoon..

  2. HI all, may I hijack this thread? Newbies to HAL. Flying out from London next friday to join Koningsdam in San Diego. Am I right in thinking an officially administered lateral flow antigen test will do us for boarding ?And I think the same test will allow us entry into US.. we are both triple vaxxed- 2 doses plus booster..

  3. Hi all, we usually use Cunard/Azamara/Silversea. What difference will we see with HAL please? Thinking of doing the March 27th California roundtrip from SAN in a Vista suite (??) . Have been offered an extra all inclusive drinks package- is that the "Have it all" deal? Most importantly, can anyone tell me what the current Covid protocols are? We are triple vaxxed, from the UK. I know I will need an ESTA for travel, but what else is required.. a pre arrival covid test? Pre boarding one? Any tips appreciated, thanks x

  4. I just tried to complete form on my laptop, but got error message "an error occurred while transmitting your data, please try again"....  it worked when I tried on my phone however.... you then have to upload a pic of your covid vax proof..

I would have thought  Cunard QM2 and the address of the Cruise Terminal . Is there anything in the "before you sail" section that shows the address or guide to fill in the form?

Haha, of course not- that would be too sensible!

I have just got to that exact same point in the form and also stuck. Mandatory fields so cannot bypass and click next.

    Any replies appreciated.

Same here.. there is a paper version you can print and fill in which asks for address in Germany IF APPLICABLE..

  7. Can't say I'm too impressed with Azamara so far, just had to call them for a 3rd time as no response either to emails or FB messenger. I am still unable to check in, I can log into my account but that's all.. it just displays an error page. They say they are aware there is an issue with check in for some bookings, and assured me I can turn up at Athens anytime from 1230-1830 without checking in-even though their paperwork says otherwise !  Anyone else having trouble?

Thank you for the informative posts.  Has made lots of items a lot clearer.   We fly out on the 17th from LHR for the 18th sailing.  We fly back on the Saturday.   We are staying at the Fresh Hotel in Athens.

We also fly out of LHR on 17th for a night in ATH first-are you on BA? We are on the 0840 flt...

I thought it was 72 hours too, but that quote is direct from the Government guidance so is the only authoritative source.

Sounds like you're doing the same pattern of flights as me. If I get impounded at Heathrow, I'll let you know, but I now plan on trying to use tomorrow's test to get back.

I didn't get very far with their help team either. The pre-cruise preparation was guessing in the dark. Practical experience is probably our best bet.

Maybe Gov.uk have changed the wording- I'm sure it said 72hrs when we went to Mallorca last month- yes, please do let me know how you get on.. flying on BA to LHR?

Although, I've just read the Govt guidance again and it seems as if '3 days before' is actually 4 days before:

    "When to take your test

You can take the test any time in the 3 days before the service on which you will arrive in England departs.

For example, if you travel directly to England on Friday, you could take a test any time on the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. The test result must be available for boarding."

So recalculating, Azamara will test on Thursday and my flight is on Sunday. So that timeline works. Despite running counter to all other testing guidance.

Would that work for you too?

Very possibly- our flight is 1530 sunday... although I was under the impression the test had to be taken with 72hrs of departure? Really appreciate your help here, new to Azamara so no idea where to ask, their social media team just refers to FAQs.

  11. Hmm, that testing schedule won't work for us as we are staying in Athens an extra day- I specifically called Azamara and they said testing will be scheduled at passengers convenience... this doesn't appear to be the case....I was told we could choose which day to test..is this not the case then?

  12. Thank you so much all who replied- I will of course have travel insurance, I just wondered if it was compulsory, like Cunard. Having been caught out without travel insurance once before, and then run over by a taxi in DXB I have no wish to repeat the experience. Many insurers will not cover covid related costs so wondered where Azamara stood on this.  Great to see what's happening onboard- love the idea of an airport codes quiz ! So looking forward to this- keep it up please Huntingdon1701 !

PS>. I would be really interested in seeing which wines they are serving at the moment...??
