  1. Cruised on EOS in June and Select drinks package had an upto the the value of $9 for wine.

This meant I had loads of choice (12 different wines:p) and found a few favourites.

Just booking again for NOS (2016) and noticed Select Package has a wine value of $8. (meaning, only 4 choices. none of my favs )

Customer service say's it's not made any changes to the value of wine on the select packages, but the drinks menus online have my fav drinks at $9 a class and would be exempt from the select package.

Can anyone either direct me to an upto date wine list, or confirm that the value of the wine has changed? Feel like I am going mad. I don't want to pay for a drinks package if Im going to be charged to drink different wines anyway.

    Cheers.

  2. My first royal cruise will be tomorrow...I'm very excited. Eos to the fjords.

First cruise was Ocean village (part of p & o) in 04. A back to back Caribbean. It was called the cruise for people that don't do cruises.

Loved the service, food, facilities and most of all the ability to explore a different place every day. A ship really feels like home. We love p and o and Thompson cruises but have heard so much about royal we have decided to give it a go.

What keeps us returning in the fact that we always enjoy our time on a ship, it's what we call an easy holiday and no matter where we go, or who we cruise with, we seem to come back eager to save up for the next one.

  3. Since booking my cruise the price has gone down. Am I right in thinking that I might be able to get some credit for this? Does it matter that I booked through a TA?

Also, Does it matter that I've been upgraded to a promanade interior stateroom when we just booked a guaranteed inside stateroom? This cabin currently costs more than we paid but the grade we paid for has been reduced.

I'm just thinking the $200 could be great to spend on other things!

    What's everyone's thought?

  4. travelling on the explorer from southampton and want to know a bit about brining alcohol onto the ship. It's not that I'm trying to smuggle it in, I just want to know where to put it as in handluggage or suitcase.

It's our 10 year anniversary while we are away and as a gift on our wedding day we were given a case of champagne. We drank a bottle of it that day and were told it is a bottle for each of our decade anniversaries. I've waited a long time to drink it and don't want it breaking, being taken off me or being tampered with.

We are driving to southampton but not sure how security works and were to put it. Any suggestions? We once had a bag that wasn't delivered to our cabin as it had a bottle of rum in. I had bought it from duty free on the flight out as it was a bargain and put it in my suitcase after collecting our luggage as I didn't have enough hands to carry everything. It was taken off us and returned at the end of the cruise. I just don't want to lose my champagne.

any tips, suggestions or advice greatly welcomed. checked the FAQs so I know I can take it but how?

    thanks

    :D

  5. I don't think you need a tie to look formal either.

My OH didn't wear a tie when we got married and doesn't own one.

We will see how we get on on our "formal night" later this month! I have the glam dress! OH on the other hand has a beautiful suit with a band collar shirt and waistcoat.

Will let you all know if we are in the MDR or buffet that night!
