  1. We are on the Carnival Magic out of Port Canaveral on February 19th. I’m getting  ready to book our flight’s and am trying to figure  out what time to book our return flight on departure day. Does anyone have any experience with flying out of MCO after a cruise?  There’s a 11:34am flight but I’m thinking that’s cutting it too close.  🤷‍♀️

    thanks!

  2. We are cruising  with a group of friends this Sunday on the Horizon. One of our group used credit card rewards points to book so didn’t use our normal Carnival PVP.  We did our proctored COVID tests tonight and one of our group is having an issue. She has a very long hyphenated last name. Verifly is saying the name on the test and the name on the reservation don’t match. On the test there is a hyphen between her two last names and the last letter is missing since her name is so long. On Verifly and her Carnival reservation her 2 last names are run together as one word  with no space and the last two letters are missing. Also, her VIFP # is missing on the reservation  yet her husband and daughters are listed.  I’m thinking since the travel agent didn’t type her name exactly like it appears in carnivals database, it didn’t pull her info from Carnival correctly  just not sure how to fix it. She tried calling carnival they said they can’t help since she booked thru a travel agent. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  3. I cruise on Sunday March 6th. I plan on doing the proctored Abbot test on Friday the 4th. My question is on the timing of the test.  My husband and I both have to work Friday.  I can take my test at work no problem. My husband is not good with technology though and I’m not sure how he’d do on his own. I would really prefer to be there to guide him through. If we wait til after work say like 6pm on Friday night would that be too late to test? We just booked this cruise Monday so I feel like I’m scrambling to to figure out the protocols. Thanks

  4. Just returned home from this sailing. We were in a Family Harbor Suite on deck 2. Loved the cove balcony, loved the quick walk up to dining room on deck 3. The Family Harbor lounge which we were really looking forward to was just okay. It got very crowded and always seemed to be a mess. I’d book cove again but not in the family harbor area. Oh, I know this has been mentioned before but our cabin, 2414 was loud.. I had heard someone on a previous review say it sounded like some one was throwing pots and pan down a flight of stairs and that’s pretty accurate.

I did run into John Heald while he was waiting for an elevator. I said hello and mentioned I’d heard he was going to be onboard. He asked if we were enjoying our trip and then asked for our cabin #. He sent up a plate of cookies and a ship on a stick which totally made my 11 year old sons day.

We’ve been on numerous Carnival Cruises and were sailing with friends whose only previous cruise was on The Pride. While we all had a good time each of us decided our next cruise will be back on The Pride. There’s just something about that ship.

  5. My heart dropped when I saw your post. I thought I messed up. Lol

Last week I changed our Magic 8/25 cruise to The Horizon out of NY on 8/28.

We are in NJ and after figuring in airfare, car service, and precruise hotel in Port Canaveral it was about the same cost to drive to NY and do a Family Harbour suite on Horizon.

I love the Dream class ships and was really looking forward to The Magic but it is so much easier to just drive an hour to NY for Horizon.

I just checked and the Magic price for an ocean suite is the same as the casino rate I had when I booked in January and the Horizon has gone up $700!

    Congrats on your price drop!

  6. A young couple we know made a stupid mistake. I am thinking they are out of luck but thought I’d ask for advice here.

They are just kids, newly married, and took their first cruise with us last August on The Pride. They wanted to prepay as much as they could. They prepurchased all their excursions, plus bought Cheers and $500 Cruise Cash on line. Unfortunately they selected Cruise Bar Cash not regular Cruise Cash. They didn’t realize what they had done til they were onboard.

They went to guest services who said they would forward to the proper dept to see what if anything could be done. They left it at that, nothing was resolved on board and they never followed up with Carnival when they got home. So, they are out the $500.

Do you think it’s worth them calling at this point? I know cruise cash is non refundable but you really can’t spend it when you have Cheers.

    Thanks

  7. Can't she just put the first part of the hypenated name in the middle name space?

It's funny, that is actually what prompted me to post my question. I had planned on just adding that name in the middle name field when I did online check in. So, I just completed online check in for my family and entered middle names for all of us yet the docs still print with just the 1st and last name.

  8. Cruising with friends next week. I made all the arrangements with my longtime PVP. My question is this. My friend has a long hyphenated last name Kozxxx- Wojtxxxxxxx. 6 letters and 11 letters. My PVP said there was not room for whole name and booked under just the 2nd last name (Wojtxxxxxxx) She said it was not unusual and that was the way hyphenated names are handled. So Elizabeth Kozxxx-Wojtxxxxxxx is just Elizabeth Wojtxxxxxxx on her cruise docs. Any one have any experience with this. My PVP was quite insistent that it would be fine.

  9. I bid on 4 different haven categories for my 12/3 sailing. I still haven't heard anything. Do you mind me asking how much was the bid that was accepted and was type of cabin were you in originally?

I originally booked a cat MX - Minisuite Guarantee with UBP & SDP when they were still offering perks with guarantees. I received the upgrade advantage email on 9/24 and my bid was accepted 10/10. I bid $1050.00 p/p for the H6.

    Good Luck!

  10. Thanks for the information. Good to know they are accepting bids before the 48 hour deadline. To me it seems a bit high based on moving from a MX, but that's how upsells seem to have always worked (they don't care how much you already have invested). If you don't mind, how much did you get into the MX for? Still, it's cheaper than if you booked the suite directly. Enjoy.

We booked the MX when they were offering the free perks with guarantees. We paid $2548.00. That includes free 3rd passenger, 4 nite dining package, and UBP.

I did bid high but I REALLY wanted that balcony!!!!!
