  1. I was on the zip line on the Oasis and I didn't have closed toe shoes. I was gonna use my daughters sneakers after she went on, but they had a pair of shoes for me to use. I think the were from the rock climbing wall. It was weird, but I got to go on. But I guess for you, I wouldn't take that chance if you really wanted to go.

  2. Well thanks for some advice. Trust me I don't want to get involved. Just wanted to tell her something since it's her first cruise, and they only booked since it was part of a wedding party. Yes he has a problem and he won't get help for it. He says it makes him happy.... Not my problem. She knows I cruise a lot and wanted my opinion. Thats it. I just didn't know the answer about insurance since I usually don't get.(yeah I know). Thanks!

  3. Need some expert advice. My friend and her husband are booked on the Breeze Aug.10. She asked me for advice, but I don't know. They are having marriage problems. He is a gambler. He has a problem. He blew all their money. She's afraid of going with him because the casino. She doesn't want to go alone either. They have cruise insurance. Does this help them? Does it cover marriage issues? If it doesn't what can she do? She said she wish she could give the cruise away to some one else but I said I don't think she can. I hate to see a cruise go to waste!!

    TIA!

  4. Going on the Freedom this Sunday, and I'm wondering do they still supply soap? I read the thread about shampoo:) but wondering do they still have soap(shower gel dispenser)? Also I booked captain Marvin's tour, did you do the morning tour at 8:30am? Wondering if that was to early. Didn't hear back from them yet, hope their not booked up. Thanks!

  5. I would take it! My family and I are going on the Freedom next week. I booked last minute and I'm paying $3800. I got two ov rooms though(5 of us). It's the price we pay to go in the summer. Wish my kids were home schooled so we could travel all over the world. I also would just keep an eye at the prices of balconies. You never know prices do drop for sept. cruises.

  6. My kids want to go on the Getaway and the last minute prices are pretty good. Here's my question. If I book three weeks out, do you think I can get reservations for the magic dinner show? Or any free show too. Or will it be all sold out? It's not a big deal but I do want to try everything. I've only been on NCL once and that was a one nighter out of NY on the Dawn. So I'm a newbie. Thanks so much!

  7. Thanks Royalcruz! I was looking at gallery one, since it gets great reviews. But I was also looking at the courtyard you suggested. I also was looking at Embassy suites, since people like that one, too. Out of the three which one do you suggest. I would like a store nearby to get snacks for the kids. They'll probably swim all day.

Post cruise we have one day and I was looking at the Westin diplomat Hollywood, or Crown plaza Hollywood. Didn't want to spend $300+. The Hard rock looks good too. I like that the pool has a slide. Casino doesn't bother us since we go to Vegas all the time. Thanks

  8. I’m sure this question has been asked a thousand time…. But I need to ask again!

We (my DH & I) are planning on flying into FLL (cheaper then MIA by A LOT!!) I need advice on hotels & transportation to & from the Miami port. So my question is should we book a FLL or a MIA hotel? And, what would be the best way to get there & to the port & then back to the FLL airport. We would like a nice/clean hotel somewhere within walking distance to restaurants & grocery store that sells wine. I’m okay with a Hilton Double tree type hotel as well as the Holiday Inns & Comfort Inns etc. My DH would like to stay somewhere with a free hot breakfast. :D

I’ve read several good things about SAS transportation. I’m thinking about having them take us to a Miami hotel, but I don’t know what to do about getting to the port or back to the airport! Thanks!!

We did this for our first cruise. We paid around $75 for shuttle(sure its more) and we stayed at the Holiday inn at mia port. Across the street is the bayside market. That place was fun. Alot of places to eat and look at shops. Reminds me of downtown disney alittle bit. And we got to see our ship in the morning.

  9. I think I need some help, since there are so many hotels. Can anyone give me their opinion on a place to stay. We are going to be in town 2 full days before our cruise. I have three kids (11,7,2). Looking for a place thats clean, somewhat newer, and has a great pool. The kids love to swim. I would like there to be kid friendly restaurants in walking distance. It would be extra great if there was some lively shopping area nearby as well. We like to get out and about , don't want to have to stay at the hotel all day. Thanks soooo much!!

  10. I am 110% sure they will evaluate your ds, and provide services, if necessary. It's actually a federal law under IDEA (I'm also certified in special education). Look up your county's health department, and ask for early intervention. By law, they have to evaluate your ds within 30 days. A team will come out to your home. Pediatricians are speech therapists worst nightmares, because they tend to wait until 3, when services aren't as good, and it's more of a struggle to overcome these issues.

As for PTing, I've found that it's actually easier before 3 than after (I trained my first 2 with the traditional underwear/pullup method when they were 3, and my other 3 kids at 2 1/2, and they were much faster).

Thanks I will check it out. He's starting to talk more in the last couple of days. So will see. He'll be two in three weeks. Thanks again!

  11. OT, but does your ds receive ST services? I see you are in NJ. When my youngest ds wasn't really taking at 18 months, I contacted EI through my health department, and within 30 days, had a team come out to evaluate him (free), and he got an hour of speech therapy at our home every week, until the age of 3 (when he aged out of EI, and didn't qualify for the 3 - 5 program).

mjkacmom, We do live in NJ and I don't think they do that any more. People have told me stories like yours, that they got help, but my DD,6yrs, has a speech problem and no one in school would help us at first because her speech has to affect her learning. She got help because when she was in kindergarden, she could not read or say letter sounds. Any hoo, I don't think the state would help, but my dr. said she is giving him one more month. If he dosen't talk more then he is going for testing. He does say me-me(mommy) , da-da and bye. And he babbles all the time. So will see. As for PT I stink at it! My first DS wasn't PT till 4 1/2!!! So I need help with boys.

  12. Thanks for the advice! My DD got potty trained on our second cruise. She was almost 3 and I told her she couldn't go in the pool unless she went potty on the toilet and she did. She didn't have one accident that week , but when she got home it was a different story. But my DS who is 23 mos. doesn't even really talk yet so I hope he understands me since he can't say ' I have to go pee!' I will try in a couple of months when he starts talking more.

  13. I found out that it's 42" for the drain pipe slide, yeah! Also we did the your time dining on Fantasy and we loved it. Twice we got the same server and it was great, the other times we were put in different places, which the service was just ok. But I rather go anytime we want, sometimes your not hungry at 6pm, and 8pm is too late.

  14. I was thinking about booking the Dream for Nov. and have a question... How tall do you have to be for the plunger slide?? My DD is 44'' as of now and she will be really upset if she can't go. In the beginning we were gonna go on the Disney Dream , but I decided to go on Disney in Feb. 2012. Since my DD wasn't tall enough for the aqua duck. Thanks so much!!
