  1. We’ve booked a cruise on the Prinsendam in May 2019.

I can cancel with no penalty. Would you stick with it, or look for something else? I’m afraid that service may not be up to par if it’s now being contracted for a short period. Opinions?

  2. My husband and I are retiring this year, YEA!!! and are planning on doing as much traveling as possible! My question is: What perks are offered on various cruise lines ( Viking Ocean, HAL, and Norwegian in particular), for returning customers? We're trying to decide if loyalty matters, or just booking what looks good at the time?

Can't really find much info on websites.

  3. There will be a laundry bag with a price list in your cabin. The pertinant rates should be on the price list, but if not, you can confirm it with your steward or with Guest Relations. If you choose the daily rate ($7 per day for your cruise), then you will be charged for all the days of your cruise (a total of $49 for your 7 day cruise). You can't just pay $7 for one or two days. If you want laundry done just once or twice, you are better off doing the "by the bag" rate of $20 per bag.

Thanks for clarifying!! I was getting really excited!

  4. We LOVED Prague!! Stayed there 2 nights before boarding our AMA river cruise last July. Like you, I opted to book our extended visit myself rather than go with the AMA option.

We stayed at the Pod Vezi, right at the end of the bridge! It was fantastic! Big room and bath, great breakfast included, staff super nice. Easy walking distance to everything, very safe part of town!

  5. Hilton Old Town.

Just returned from AMA cruise starting in Prague. This time the people who opted for the AMA add on were staying in the InterContinental. We decided to do it ourselves, stayed at the Pod Vezi which was right at the foot of the Charles Bridge. Wonderful hotel. Taxied to the InterContinental and made the transfer with the AMA bunch day of Sailing. No problems at all! Prague is easy to get around, and PodVezi met us at the airport, and arranged for taxi to transfer us the last day.

  6. We just returned from the Rivers & Castles Tour on AMA Dante, and highly recommend it!! This was our first river cruise, and hopefully won't be our last!

Like others have mentioned, different things (like food) appeal to different folks. We are foodies, and found the food on the AMA ship to be outstanding! But, if you're not a "foodie" some of the dishes on the Chef's recommendation may not appeal to you. But, they offer 3 or 4 options on main courses.

  7. Gives me chills to think about this!

Some thoughts..have you women ever traveled together? My experience has shown some people don't travel well outside their comfort zone. High maintenance becomes a whole new story.

Have all of the women been on a cruise before?? Do they realize how small the bathrooms are?

Do you girls drink? Some more that others?? Just saying, someone sick in a crowded room could definitely put a damper on things.

I'd really try and spring for only 2 to a room, I think it'd be a lot more fun, and you all would still be speaking at the wedding!

  8. The Celebrity website is driving me crazy! Says no excursions are available for my cruise (July 13 to Alaska), and I freaked out when I logged in and saw that my cruise had been canceled!! NOT!! My travel agent cleared the latter up, thankfully, but I'm just going to book an excursion independently. I would like to be able to compare prices, tho.
