  1. I'm on hold for the 2nd day trying to get my Classic package upgraded to Premium for the same August 1st cruise.  I am booked through a TA and Celebrity rep is telling TA the upgrade pre-cruise price is not available.  I'm staring literally at my reservation on the Celebrity website which tells me it is but you have to call to get the discounted price.

This would be the 2nd "issue" I've had trying to modify anything in my reservation including when we added our daughter to the cabin.  I've had to do screen shots and prove to Celebrity what their website says?  Absolutely ridiculous....

We haven't cruise Celebrity in 20 years and were hoping for a great experience as my husband and I are looking for a more upscale line.  I do hope the cruise itself isn't as frustrating as trying to get then to honor their own pricing!

  2. We are looking to book a tour of the volcano in Reykjavik but need to book the 8am tour in order to be back by 2:00 ship departure.  I'm wondering if anyone has ever booked this tour and how long from pick up to drop off it actually took?  The tour operator said we should be back between 1 and 1:30.  I dont mind cutting it close usually, but thought I'd see if anyone has done this before.  Thanks! Robi

Been to Iceland twice: once in 2005 for a week on our own with a rental car, and several years ago for 4 days on a transatlantic cruise. Iceland is gorgeous, but has certainly become a lot more crowded with tourists since our first trip. With kids, and a lot of time in Reykjavik,  maybe consider the first day taking a full day high-wheel jeep tour into Porsmork, part of the rugged interior of Iceland. That's what we did in 2005 and it was amazing. In addition to guided hiking up Mt. Valahnukar, and a cave in Stallholtsgjer we got to walk behind a waterfall (Seljalandsfoss). Some of those tours even offer an opportunity to walk on a glacier. Your kids would love it.  On the second day, take a half-day Golden Circle tour.  Skip Blue Lagoon (mobbed) and opt for the Nature Baths/Lake Myvatin tour out of Akureyri. Much less touristy.

Do you remember who you used for the tour into Porsmork?  We would love all those activities!

  4. Trying to arrange a floatplane, seeing bears, helicopter and dog sledding between Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.  Most have fairly good options for everything except the bears.  I came across the Admiralty Island Fortress of the Bear Kayak tour with Juneau Shore Tours.  Its an all day event which encompasses a floatplane, kayak, hiking and seeing bears and eagles.  I'm wondering if anyone has done this tour or something similar?  We're booking for this coming May.  Any info is GREATLY appreciated!

  5. Ours actually doesn't go to HMC.  We are on the 12/21 cruise.  We have the other itinerary which we wanted.  LaRomana has a gem called Saona Island which we love and are excited to go to again.  This time with a herd of grandchildren!

  6. Just booked the Magic for December 2019 over Christmas.  Needed 6 rooms so we are on Deck 9 which is under the Lido.  Not my favorite location but better then deck 1.  Anybody been u der the Lido on a Dream Class ship?  Looking for info on noise?
