We loved our two Solstice cruises. She is the oldest of the S class ships but the lay out, lounges, space and general ambiance is not hampered by her age! Neither is the fantastic service or general Celebrity ambience...
If you board expecting Edge you may be disappointed, regardless of Revolution, it is a different class of ship with a totally different layout, main dining room set up etc.
The Revolution adds a few benefits for suite class and a few refits, it doesn’t transform the S class which many of us see as a fantastic design. Edge does have its critics in comparison to S class. I cannot comment about that as we have yet to cruise Edge...
Strongly suggest you YouTube some recent videos of Solstice and read more reviews.
We did the TP on Solstice and it remains our favourite cruise ever...
Open your experience to S class ships, you may even prefer to Edge...
Totally agree with everything you say here . Love the S class ships and the Solstice was in great shape for our TP sailing also.

Todays excursion was an eco tour with Adventure Antigua:
Sounds fun! How many were with you on this tour? You mentioned hiking; how long was that and its difficulty?

Following. We leave November 3 on the Silhouette TA.

Totally agree. Just off her yesterday, 8/11/18 and she met and exceeded our expectations. Silhouette up next in November 2018 for our first TA.

We are also on this cruise and this will be our second TA on this ship. Yes, the Mast Grill, Porch and Lawn Club Grill will be open. I don't remember being cold when we had dinner at LCG. As has been said, they do have heaters and they provide blankets if you are cold. We went twice to the LCG, it was so good. Come and join us on the roll call.
Good to hear that they will be open, weather dependant. We are on this cruise also but it is our first TA. Looking forward to the adventure!

We did this cruise April 2017. Flew to Sydney from Texas and stayed 4 nights in Sydney and stayed 4 nights in Honolulu at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
The cruise was awesome! So many activities morning, noon and night. Entertainment was great. We met some people that have turned into great friends and we are now all doing a TA this November from Southampton. Weather was perfect and the Islands/ports were spectacular. We loved the days at sea and found that there was plenty to do. We are also going to do it again if that means something.

We had one last April, 2017 on the Solstice. Pretty funny.

Do you know why women love Won Ton soup.
I'll bite. Why?

All good points made above and I as well love TAs. I would suggest sailing westbound (to the United States) as you get several 25 hour days and when you return, there is not jet lag. With the cruise starting in Europe you basically have a week of exploring then the 7 day crossing to relax. East bound is the opposite as you have 23 hour days and once the ship arrives into Europe you are touring and once off the ship, you fly back to the US and you're likely to be more tired. Leaving for my next TA in 14 days.
Great point! Safe travels.

First question is where are you leaving from.
Sydney has two docks,
White Bay
Or
The Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) at the Rocks
If you're unsure tell us your ship and sail date and someone will look it up, often just telling the ship answers the question as many can't fit under the bridge to get to White Bay.
Also some idea of your budget might assist as you can pay (also depends on timing) from about $200 for Ibis to a few Thousand for Park
Hyatt
Hi Gut2407:
What is your opinion of Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour? Thanks.

We did this one last year and had a ball so wish we were going again lol.
you are leaving a couple of weeks later than we did and it's likely the first few days will be a little cooler before you start heading north
First stop is bay of islands beautiful place welcomed to the bay by a pod of dolphins but it's a tender port and last year at least tendering was very slow
Similar on arrival in Hawaii made worse by having to clear us customs before tendering could start but theses were only two very small negatives to the trip
There are multiple daily trivias and quite a few talks . We also enjoyed wine and beer tastings which were on most sea days. Lots of other activities too though many come with a sales pitch
Also did an access all areas ship tour . A bit pricey but you got to see a lot of behind scenes things including the bridge of course and a lunch was included.
Have fun it was one of our favourite cruises
Thanks for the info. Also how many "formal" nights are on this 18 night cruise?

It was on the Solstice in Sept. I have no idea about Ivan.
Molecular was better.
Thanks. I agree Molecular Bar was cool/unique. Anything special about the World Class bar?

We are leaving on the Tahitian Treasures 18 night cruise on April 20, 2017. I am checking to see if anyone did this same cruise last year and had any insights on excursions or tips on which specialty restaurants you liked or really anything you thought was fun. Did they have trivia daily and seminars, etc. on sea days? Thanks.

I was wondering if anybody who recently just got off solstice could tell me if the World Bar is on Solstice yet? If so, was there a bar tender there named Ivan. He was on the Equinox World Bar and said he wanted to go on Solstice to open it up. He is a great bar tender so go visit him if the world bar has opened up.
Any update on this question above? We will be on the Solstice April 20, 2017 for 18 nights and was curious if this has changed yet after the refurb last year(2016). Thanks.

I was on the Sydney-Honulu cruise this April and brought all Cruise Planners with me.
If you can wait a bit (give me a week or two), I will scan them.
Hi UniPac:
Just came across this post from you. Were you able to scan the Cruise Planners and if so where would I find them? We are going on the Sydney-Hawaii beginning April 20, 2017. Thank you for you your trouble.

I agree! Solstice Penthouse is breathtaking and location is mid ship which makes it easy to get to all areas easily. The outside deck is large and quiet.
