Just booked three weeks on Ovation. The itinerary provides for three BBQ's on Carambola during the cruise.
I see that excursions are also offered on these dates. Perhaps it would be possible to do an excursion AND the BBQ, but I assume the ship's restaurants will be operating so that we could get fed on board after an excursions.

Thank you for the very useful info. Best.

Looking at taking a short cruise on Royal Princess, we are attracted to the Reserve Collection Mini-suites. Because we are only on the ship for a few days I want to try to ensure we don't waste too much time getting to grips with that vital issue of where to go to eat??!!
We haven't sailed with Princess recently so are hoping for guidance about the meal venues:
1. Am I right that Concerto is where we would go for dinner each day and for breakfast and lunch of sea days?
2. For breakfast (including departure day), do we also go to Concerto?
3. Concerto for lunch on port days?
4. What about embarkation?

Thanks for your comments guys

Just booked 28 days with Seabourn and I am looking to answer a simple question. I know you guys will be able help.
We were recently on a Silversea cruise, which was not as good as we had expected, but one thing we loved was that the wine we had requested for the suite fridge was promptly replaced as we drank it (and we had asked for champagne!).
I have a feeling that, although Seabourn will provide an initial stock, but once it is gone, it is gone. To be clear I am referring to wine, not spirits, beers or sodas.

I will be on the Nova in a couple of months and this narrative has been really helpful in the planning.
One issue: if I take my laptop, is the safe large enough to accommodate it?
-
Do not sweat about it. Last autumn I was horrified to find that I had managed to pack only one black patent leather shoe for my 27 night cruise on QM2!
Having fretted about it, the head waiter told me not to give it a moments thought. I wore my ordinary brown shoes to each of the formal nights.

Panic over! Ovation does not disappear next April!
Seabourn decided to change the booking reference because of the change to the end port, but only just did that. That meant that arrangements I had made under the old booking number were cancelled.
The emails I had were about stuff I had ordered on the cruise, but in referring to them they said: "cancellation of your cruise reservation has resulted in the cancellation and refund of the following purchases"!
I presume the itinerary will reappear on the website when they load the revised routing.

I am booked on the Ovation next April. Just got an email which reads as though our cruise has been cancelled.
The ship seems to have disappeared from the Seabourn website from April for a couple of months.
Any of you guys heard anything about this?

The only Cunard wine list I can find on the forum is dated 2018. Has anyone got a copy of a later version?
-
My wife and I are just restarting our cruising and planning well ahead. We like to hop around the lines.
This change to the internet pricing by Cunard seems to be against the industry trend. I am being offered free wifi all over.
This new Cunard structure does not work for us at all.
I was already furious to see how measly the World Club benefit actual was going to be on our 47 day cruise coming up soon.
Pretty cross.

Re mini bar set up: can we exchange for bottles of wine?
-
I have just booked a QM2 Transatlantic cruise.
Will I find WiFi available at the terminal in NY?
-
Well, PhD-iva, I am not a betting man, but I very much hope that your trip takes place and we are due to disembark that vessel in BA. I guess if we are in luck, you will be, too!
May be able to give you a wave.

Thanks, guys.

Just got the "paperwork" for our first Viking Ocean cruise.
Working through the detail I noticed that, in addition to the date from which speciality restaurant reservations may be placed, a date for reservations in The Restaurant. This caused me to look at the My Journey area on the website and I see that there is a button for the Restaurant in the section for speciality bookings (obviously, these buttons don't work yet).
On our previous cruises with eg Regent, Seabourn etc I guess some passengers may have reserved for a particular time on occasion, but it didn't seem to be a thing. As far as I could see everyone was just turning up and getting seated - as did we.
Is this a common practice on Viking for folk to pre book their seats in the main restaurant before boarding?
-
Misunderstood. Thought you guys were referring to Sep 2022. I am aware of the May cruises.

Cannot find the Hawaii itinerary details. Can someone send me a link?

Gosh. What a quick and comprehensive reply!

I see that NCL have a "free bar" offer at the moment. I am sure I have seen somewhere that drinks packages are not available on POA. If so, does that mean that the free bar offer does not extend to Pride?
-
I see a bar. Drinks are free?

My wife can get a Cosmopolitan on the Classic package, right?

The term concierge lunch is new to me. We are in a Sky suite this time and I think we take lunch in Luminae. For future reference: who gets it and where is it (on Silhouette, eg)?

I am familiar with this trick. I didn't have to worry about it last time I sailed with Celeb because everything was priced in USD.

Thanks. I think that being on board for the last Carambola visits sounds best for us. You say you ordered a special lunch. In the main DR, right?
