  1. We just returned from this cruise as well. The second alpha call was for an elderly gentleman who fell getting off the elevator. He was in a lot of pain and complained that his hip was not right. Praying for him and his family.

That man was in our group. His hip replacement came out of it s socket, hence the fall.

The medical staff was amazing and extremely efficient. They quickly transported him to the medical center, started an I.v., took an X-ray , sedated him and manipulated the femur back into place. He was back in his cabin in 1.5 hrs. Went to orthopedic surgeon at home and now needs a new replace ten since he wore the old one out! Can t say enough good things about the care he received on board.

  2. Toured with Rome in Limo 2 wks ago in Livorno (Florence/SanGimignano) Rome and Naples(Amalfi coast&Pompeii). I had used them 4 yrs ago and had been extremely satisfied with their services. Once again, their services were excellent. I had previously told my friends how efficient their service was and how we never had to wait in line and my friends were amazed at how quickly we were whisked from one venue to the next. Elisabetta was our driver in Florence and San Gimignano and she was very knowledgeable about the areas we traveled as well as a very good driver on the windy back roads returning to Livorno. Stefano was our driver in Rome and he did a fantastic job negotiating the traffic in town for the double Papal canonizations. He also found us a great quick lunch spot neat the Vatican. Massimo was our wonderful Vatican guide. He gave us a brief Ipad chalk talk illustrating the images we were about to see prior to entering the Sistine Chapel and it made a world of difference in understanding and appreciating what we were viewing. Finally, Raffeale drove us first down the Amalfi coast, to lunch @ the "Red Lion" and on to Pompeii. He was most accommodating in taking 2 of our group on a brief shopping excursion while the rest of us toured Pompeii with our guide Pina. As I mentioned , I used RIL before and plan to use them again on my next trip... They're the BEST!

  3. Our family of six toured with RIL in Naples, Rome and Livorno in mid- June. Tony was our driver on the Pompeii and Amalfi coast trip. We also hired a guide in Pompeii - great idea since I think we would have wasted a great deal of time deciding where to go and we had planned to only spend 2 hours there. Tony couldn't have been more attentive- bottles of cold water and snacks in the van, great restaurant in Sorrento , lots of stops for photos, extremely friendly and accommodating gentleman.

At Civitavecchia, Francesco whisked us to Rome, got our Coliseum tickets, and drove us to the usual venues. He was very knowledgeable and extremely efficient. After a lunch stop, he took us to the Vatican to meet our guide, Paula .Once again, it was money well-spent for the guide.

Sabrina met us in Livorno and we toured Pisa and saw the "other leaning tower" and some of the countryside before going to Florence. We stopped @ a beautiful Benedictine monastery just outside Florence then continued into the city. Sabrina was very personable and organized which allowed us to see as much as possible in a day. She reserved our Academia tickets so there was no wait. She took us to a little streetside

shop that had great take-out panninis and wine

All 3 drivers were scheduled to meet us @ 8am but they were waiting for us @ 7:40 when we disembarked at each port. We were back at the ship by 5:45 at the latest. RIL exceeded our expectations and I plan to use them again when back in those ports
