  1. Boarded March 4. All going well. Full ship. Happy, healthy and having a great time. So far all port access. However, we have been denied access to St kitts on Wednesday. Rumor has it Princess denied access to St. Lucia tomorrow. Yet, we are good to go. Hmmmm????

  2. On Holland America in March to Havana and Cienfuegos. We used Old Car Tours in Havana for a six hour tour. Cost was $240 total for three of us with driver and English speaking guide. I highly recommend this company! You do NOT have to book a tour through your cruise line. I found Cuba to be a wonderful port. It seemed very safe to me and the people are welcoming.

All people easily accepted American dollars for tips. Exchange dollars for CUCs after going through customs.

  3. I am also a senior and have been cruising for a while. I prefer Holland America because they seem to best serve our age group. Some other cruise lines tend to draw a younger age group. That is fine, but my preference is a more laid back cruise. There is lots to do on a HAL cruise. The food is great, the entertainment wonderful and the ports are interesting. HAL has a strong reputation and once you cruise with them you can gather points through their Mariner Society for trip perks.

  4. I just booked this cruise today through Life's Jourmeys.com. This is the company sponsoring the MasterChef events. It is my understanding that these events are only for those who have booked through Life's Journeys. Last year they had over 500 guests. This year they are expecting over 800.
