I was just on the Anthem (Nov 11-18) and went to the Diamond lounge every night at 5pm. We found seats every night and were served by waiters. We dined first seating (5:30), so we usually had time to drink one drink then get a 2nd to take to dinner.

Do you need cell phone service for Zello to work?

I think you would need WiFi purchased thru the ship.

We have a group of 8 going on 11/11 and we downloaded a walkie talkie app called Zello. You can even make a group. As I haven’t gone on my cruise yet, I’m not sure how reliable it is, but I live in Florida and we downloaded it ahead of the hurricane as suggested. I’ve used it with my friends in Ohio (while in Florida) and it has worked.

On my Android phone I can turn on airplane mode and send texts and make calls using a WiFi package. It does not use the data, so there are no charges.

Does anyone have feedback on Jimmy Rhodes? We weren't able to book the FOTS for 12/15, so we 'defaulted' (ha!) to the Oasis on 12/15. It's my 2nd time on Oasis, so I'm thrilled, but I really was looking forward to Richard... Like another poster said, he's the standard I will compare CDs to from now on!!

My husband and I sailed twice with Jimmy Rhodes on the Explorer and loved him!

Jimmy isn't on any ship right now. He has been on break for the past 4-6 weeks. I asked him on fb if he'd be on the Granduer for the Jan 3 rd cruise that I will be on and he said no, he'd be cruising in Asia again.

I asked him the other day on fb where he'll be in Jan and he told me back in China, not on Granduer.

I'm friends with CD Jimmy on facebook and he recently announced that he was offered the CD position on the new Quantum!! :)

On my RCCL cruise last month on the Rhapsody, they didn't even provide towels by the pool. You had to bring down the ones placed in your room and return them to your room, or you were charged for them :(

I was just on the Explorer in Jan. and we had to use our seapass to check out towels by the pool...that was a first for me!!
