Glad it worked out. One should be able to cancel the insurance first and then cancel the cruise to avoid this situation (before final payment date, of course). I believe that you can cancel the insurance right through your cruise manager on the website.

I tried and tried to do just that, but it wouldn't let me.  You can add and remove gratuities but not the insurance....once you click that plus sign to add it, even after you have made final payment....it will not allow it....lesson learned that is for sure

    It is refundable

I just got off the phone with Carnival and it has been refunded 🙂  I will be doing the happy dance on my cruise come January with a Miami Vice in hand.

It had to go to a supervisor for approval but yes if prior to final payment date it is refundable 😄

  3. I thought I clicked the prepaid tips, turns out I clicked the carnival vacation insurance...for a cruise booked in January 2020...I cancelled as I found a better deal...full refund minus the $190 for the stupid insurance that I did not want in the first place

  4. received email today saying I qualified to upgrade my cabin for an extra $18 to a higher deck...checked the pricing to book new today, and I can book the same deck as mentioned in the upgrade for only $8 more...my cruise is not until Jan 2020 so figure they must have some group wanting a bunch of cabins together to be offering this so far out from the sail date.  I did not jump at the offer lol

  5. Is the APP also available for an IPAD ...

If you can download it from the App Store, then yes it is available for that device....it works great :) you can set favourites and it will alert you 15 minutes before the start time, so you don't miss the activities that interest you

  6. app is free to use on the ship, but the chat is $5 per device for the entire cruise...also buying an internet package doesn't include the chat feature, it will be $5 on top of the internet package if you decide to use it...app works great, am currently on the Vista now

  7. Yesterday i mentioned it on John Healds facebook page. He said many people do in fact like them, and the gift is changing in November, something new.

Just because it is changing in November don't expect all ships to change as they will have to deplete the croc stock first before giving out the new gift...

  8. The last two cruises I booked..one about 2 months ago, and my upcoming which I booked about 2 weeks ago, would not let me add the remaining passengers. I had to call Carnival for both.

The second time around I let them know it had happened before and the lady told me it was a known bug with the website.

That website..just..wow. I have lots of little problems with it pretty much all the time. (and yes, I have a good, up to date web browser)

The call was quick and easy..should fix your problem.

Surprisingly, I added the 2nd passenger last evening....booking still showed TBA, logged in today and low and behold the 2nd passenger is now listed...seems Carnival website has to go through its daily refresh, although you get no confirmation that the person has been added...

Save yourself a call...your 2nd person will show up the next day...

  9. I think you may have skipped a step. After selecting the cruise date and cabin, one has the option to quick finish the booking so you get a TBA, or you can input their data and have the 2nd person officially on the booking.

I see no option to input data it goes right from my info to the payment screen ??

  10. I just booked online and can't seem to add the 2nd passenger...it will only show as TBA...what is the point of having an online booking when you can't complete it yourself? If I wanted to call to book I would have...again another Carnival IT issue...

  11. Hello,

We are headed onto Carnival Splendor in about 2 weeks and were wondering about the Internet/cell phone packages. Has anyone done one? Is it worth it? I know the cheapest is $5/day, are you able to send iMessages using that?

I haven't heard of any cell phone/internet packages, only cell phone offer is cellular at sea and the charges are a shocker when you get home and receive your cell phone bill...

I used the internet on my phone, switched to airplane once on the ship then turned the wifi on to connect to the ship wifi to buy an internet plan and messaged with it

  12. Just got off the Breeze this past Sunday and thankfully, no trip required to Guest Services, we both got the duffle bag...they sure helped on the way home as we had lots of extra stuff to bring back...too much shopping

I think it depends on what your room steward has left to distribute, as I saw a stack sitting on the cart of our room steward's, since others on the Breeze have said they received the new packing cubes

  13. NOT a misprint - they have 'eliminated' the smoked salmon from the door hanger menu - I for one am quite upset (no other 'proteins' available) but nothing seems to be happening LOL

Wish there was more of a 'stir' like when they removed the shrimp cocktail from the MDR menu and had to put it back!:p

Just returned from the Breeze a couple of weeks ago...smoked salmon isn't on the door hangers anymore...we thought why not just write it on the card like we do for peanut butter....and surprise the next morning it did show up and is the same as it has always been. The waiter even referenced it and said "your smoked salmon is on the bottom plate"

Write it on the menu card...no harm in trying...it worked for us :)
