Hoku Tours
in Hawaii
I had a family member book the Pearl Harbor tour with them this summer. They were to be picked up at their hotel. However, Hoku called them at the last minute to cancel. Very unfortunate as this was their last day in Hawaii and with earlier notification, they could possibly have secured their own tickets. I made myself a note to not use this company!

Coming ashore at Kahului.

We are doing the "Hop-on, Hop-off" Clark's trolley tour. I believe it's $15 per person and you get your tickets at the port. Snorkeling equipment is also available through Clark's.

I understand that a free self-tour of the Queen Mary in Long Beach is offered to cruise passengers and they only require you show your cruise documents. Does anyone know if this can be done pre-cruise as well as post-cruise? Thanks!

We are booked at the Best Western of Long Beach ($125) pre-cruise. They offer a free area shuttle as well as transportation to the Port of Long Beach.

We are cruising on Carnival out of Long Beach and are wondering which car rental agencies are close to the port? Thanks!

Thank you both for the great info. I'll definitely be on the "top side" when we sail away!

We are planning a cruise on the Star Princess, leaving from San Francisco and headed South to Santa Barbara and San Diego. Can anyone advise me on which side of the ship to book so we'll have the best coastal views on our way out?

They were selling it by size: $1 for a small piece, about the size of a dime and $2 or $3 for larger pieces, about the size of a U.S. quarter. How much do they charge for it? I guess if local vendors can sell it then it seems that it is only illegal for non-Bermudians to " steal " the beach glass? -
We had no trouble bringing back a small ziplock bag of glass. I think my husband had it stuffed in his pocket. I question what is "natural" sea glass because so much of it looked like recently broken beer bottles - so much of it was brown and green. Many pieces of old white-colored china among the glass as well. There was a gift shop in the Clock Tower Mall that was selling smaller, prettier pieces.

Can I expect much motion sickness on Pride of America? What are the best / worst stateroom locations for sea sickness? Thanks!
