We walked to the bus station in town (about 1 mile, but you could also take a taxi into town for <$5 I believe) and then took a public bus for $1 each to Rockley. The locals were very friendly and eager to help us know where to get off.
-
We went to Mullet Beach, which was about 30-40 minutes. I unfortunately don't really know how long going anywhere else takes, although we passed through Simpson Bay on the way to Mullet.

There is little scheduled public transportation from Mullet back to the port. The buses may not come by when you need them. Keep that in mind when planning your return. To be certain, you either need to rent a car, arrange for a taxi, or hoof it over to Maho, which can be a trek. I've never done it myself. We always rented a car.
We saw so many buses on our way up to Mullet driving back to Phillipsburg. At both Phillipsburg and Mullet, we waited no longer than 5 minutes for one to come by. The ride was about 30-40 minutes, but it will be just as long with a taxi, since it's a one-lane road to get there.

If you walk to Back Street downtown (easy walk from the port) you can take a public bus/minivan for $2. Just flag one down when you see a sign in the windshield that says Maho or Mullet Bay.

You don't need to go to a bus stop. Just wave down a passing "bus" (really more like a minivan) that has a sign in its windshield for where you want to go (Maho, Phillipsburg, etc.). We just did this last week and it was quick and convenient.

Where is the best place to access the boardwalk ? We want to enjoy a walk and end up at The Boatyard
Easiest by taxi / bus ?
Are you talking about the boardwalk by the Hilton hotel? The boardwalk actually isn't that long, and it starts south of the Hilton, while the cruise ship will be north of the Hilton. We walked back to the ship from Rockley beach (~1.5 hours), some of which was on the boardwalk but mostly just along the beach. The Boatyard/Harbor Lights is North of the Hilton, so unless you want to take a taxi/bus further south and then walk back, you won't be on the boardwalk. Hope this helps!

FIRST:
Is the Tiki Bar the only establishment that rents out
chairs and umbrellas here ?
SECOND:
Is there another way to get here other than a taxi ? BUS ?
How long should a taxi take to get here & what should the cost be?
are taxi fares "controlled/posted" ?
Thanks ALL for your assistaance

We just got back from our cruise and used the public bus to get to Rockley. You just walk into town to the Fairchild Bus Station (about 15 minutes or you can take a short cab/shuttle ride to the station- we were offered $5 for two people but decided to walk). It's only $1 to take the bus and the locals were very nice and helpful. It was not a long bus ride (~15 minutes) and very easy, along one main road. In fact, we ended up walking back to the ship along the beach from Rockley. Took about 1.5 hours. But you can always just flag down a bus along the main road if you don't want to walk.

I am signed up to do Spencer's land and sea tour next week in St. Lucia. I know that everything is open except for the waterfall, but has anyone actually done a land tour since the big Christmas storm? Are the roads, scenery, beaches, etc. a mess or does it all look fine now? We're debating about switching to a sea only tour. Thanks so much!

I would check with Carnival if this is the Torailles waterfall. If your cruise is leaving soon, it might still be closed down from the Christmas storm.

Yes, I had the same response from him, I checked my emails and his reply was in September 2012 for our March 2013 trip. I booked with someone else. He follows a very different calendar than ours.
It's not so much the calendar part, as the receiving messages from Jesus and seeing us in heaven part that made me wary.

I'm wondering if anyone has gotten an email from Royston like this before. I've read such good things about his tour, but was a little taken aback by the email response I got from him when I inquired about taking a tour from him. Has anyone had a similar experience? I don't want to slander someone's reputation, but I also don't know if anyone would find this cause for concern...
"I would like to take you but its not a good day for me. I had some dreams from god that led me to using the old biblical lunisolar calendar for the sabbath day and it falls on that day so I don't want to work.
Jesus also told me he is coming soon and to tell people. so hope to see you in heaven."

Sorry, I should clarify. The bus dropped us off at Mullet (just tell the driver that's where you're going and he'll drive you there), and to get back we walked into town (Maho) and caught the bus across the street from the casino. It was a 5 minute walk to town, so no big deal for us.
