Back online now. Yes, the non-COVID cabin mates, once they choose to accompany their COVID-positive partners, are not allowed to leave the quarantine cabin.

We order from either the dining room or room service menu, no charge even for the extra-charge items like full pizzas. Wine and other liquor is also free, although we both have the plus package anyway. They will also deliver bottled waters and full ice buckets.

We have been satisfied with the communication so far.

She  never joined  him...  which is  how  we found out,     they  were trivia partners and  suddenly stopped showing up

I've encountered that since I began cruising many years ago, well before Covid.  I just get up and move to get away from them. It would be tougher to do on public transportation, but I've never had to do it there.

Couldn’t move, unless we left,  there were no other seats available.

  3. Just off the sky as well. The bed was wonderful.  The only complaints I really had were passengers that were rude to staff members, people doing dodgy things in trivia, and, perhaps the worst thing of all….   They made us get off

sorry you didn’t have an enjoyable time

Best possible way to sail is to find a person who is on a casino comp cruise offer to get ALL your alcohol drinks at the casino and only order water/coffee/soda as an exception at the pool deck only if you must.

For gratuities cancel them right away when you get on board and wifi I usually knock on my neighbour's door and ask if they are using all their devices as wifi you can use multiple devices, you can piggy back off someone's device for free.

This way you are essentially eliminating $50/day all together, I am amazed people aren't doing this more often as I feel far superior and smarter doing these tips.

    Illegal, immoral, and  socially unacceptable.

I wont start a debate about removing tips  because its been  done over and over and over

RC apparently still hasn't "gotten the memo" so to speak.  This is an automated e-mail and I expect that there will be a new one sent with the updated information, probably October 1st since that is the date the new protocol goes into effect.  I'm on the same cruise with you.  Also, don't bother calling RC.  Their reps are usually the last to learn of new protocols and procedures.

    See you on October 6th.

I called  this morning,  they said maybe today or tomorrow or the  next day.  I sail Sunday, I'm in the middle of a hurricane, my  covid  test got  cancelled,  luckily I've rescheduled ,  but who knows if it will happen.

    Yep, even for cruise ships:

But RCCL hasn't updated their requirements yet.  I suspect later today they will change the website:

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise#united-states

Really wish royal  would  get with the program  and update.  It would mean one less thing to deal  with  at the moment.   I'm sitting here  in  Florida  waiting  for the visit from Ian

Just to answer a few questions about check in today

1: only asked for verbal verification of negative covid test if fully vaccinated. No proof needed

2: fully vaccinated is 2 original covid vaccines and ONE booster even if it is over 270 days. I had my last booster a year ago and it was fine.

3: mask required at some places while checking in and on island princess They were handing them out and told you to put it on

4:  At mayflower terminal there is an elite area and priority boarding

checkin was fast and easy. Onboard at 11am.

I probably can’t answer any questions as I don’t have the internet on board only using my cell service to post.

What  cruise are you on?  Is  it a  trans Atlantic?  Or  just around Great Britain and Northern Europe?

    Thank you

Is it the consensus of the forum that the Trans Atlantics do not have internet sufficient to do normal day to day business?

I posted earlier about our experience with the internet on the Sky Princess Trans Atlantic in March.

We can not get a response from Princess customer relations, nor can our travel agent.

We understand that it is not an important consideration for some cruisers.

what are you considering "normal day to day business"?

Our DIL is a flight attendant and said she could give us a ride up to Sea-Tac as she had a flight on Sunday morning. I was under the impression that the Medallion app was suppose to speed up the boarding process, it was terribly slow. It been a long time since I've seen such a flipp'n mess.

i understand the  ride to  the  airport instead,  I apologize and im  sorry for your  difficult time

Can anybody share the experience if you have pre-booked a hotel w/Princess for the night before and transferring from hotel to ship?  How does this different approach stack up against what is being reported for "day of" transfers?

we  did  many years ago,  it was very easy,  I was on crutches at the time as well.

we  found the princess rep at the airport,  they brought us to our  hotel,  brought us  to  ship the  following morning,  had  a chair waiting for me ,  it was seamless
