  1. Transidolls, I just checked and their is a thread started for your cruise on 9/17/07. Just go to the HOME page, click on Boards, then on ROLL CALL for RCI, Then look for Legend of the Seas. Then look for your date. It is there. Good luck hope you find the thread OK.

  2. One thing we used it for, was we had soft sided luggage and the handle was pulled out and riped down the side. We couldn't find luggage to buy at any port, so we used the duck tape to wrap around the suitcase. It made it home. It was easy to spot our case also. If you look back into this thread, I am sure you will find many uses for it. We don't travel any more without it.

  3. I have read all the postings on this thread. As I come across a suggestion that would interest me, I write it down, then I put them all in the computer and make a copy of what we all need. We haven't forgotten anything since I made up our master list. Sometimes we don't need all the items, so I just by pass it. Like clothing for Alaska is different than for Caribbean. But I still go over my whole list and check to make sure I have everything. Also I use this list to put next to each item. which suitcase it went into, in case that suitcase is lost, I can say exactly what was in it. We are lucky we have never had to use the list for a lost luggage, but we are prepared in case it ever happens.

  4. I buy the plastic cups from each cruise line and take my drinks out on deck in them, but I like Cindivan's idea of plastic cups, you can leave them and not carry back to your cabin.

We always have a drink while dressing for dinner. We like it in a nice glass, so we BUY a drink the first day and take the glasses back to our cabin. We wash them out and use them every evening. You have to hide them in a drawer or the steward takes them out.

You bringing coke on board, it is in cans where what they serve on pop cards is from the bar tap, which tastes different. You arn't cheap, you are going thrifty so you can save up to go on another cruise. If ALL cruise lines would charge a REASONABLE price for pop, beer, drinks, wine, we wouldn't have to smuggle anything on board.

If the cruise lines don't expect you to drink in your cabin, why do they give us extra ice when we ask for it. We chill the wine, beer in a plastic bag that we line the trash cans with.

  5. The clothes pins you take along for hanging up clothes to dry, use them at the bottom of the shower curtain, the little weight holds the curtain downward and it won't hug you.

We have a fold up shoe organizer, over the closet rod. It is great for shoes, purses, cameras etc. You don't have to look all over the closet floor for a pair of shoes.

I have used the free shampoo to do laundry with when I forgot to bring my soap tablets, or in case the machines are empty.

Your list is great. I have most of your items on my list, but I did add a couple from your list.

One other thing I am going to try. With the soft luggage, one time ours was out in the rain at the airport and some of the clothing got wet. I am going to line my whole suitcase with the cleaners plastic wrap, hopefully this will help keep everything dry.

    Thanks again for your list.

  6. Our last cruise in April, we found out 2 days before boarding what our guarantee cabin # was. Another time it was 2 weeks before. It can be almost any time they want to. Yes, keep watching your booking page on the Princess site. There is where we found ours for the 2 days before boarding. We have done 4 guarantee bookings, and never have been disappointed. Just be patient. Happy cruising.
