  1. I thought I was subscribed to this thread and just now saw I wasn’t so just seeing Traveldude’s question about tours,

I haven’t booked any and probably won’t book one. I figure since I am following the cruise with lots of time in Europe I’ll get enough sightseeing in. I will probably check out the port cities on foot which will be nice after days at sea. Looking at la Petite Auberge http://www.lapetiteauberge-lehavre.fr/en/ in Le Havre for a nice lunch.

  2. Hi Damon and Ross,

I just book this cruise yesterday and glad to see there are some fellow travelers on board. I am traveling solo, no partner and no friends interested in a trans Atlantic crossing by ship. Most of my travels have been solo so I now kind of prefer it.

Spain and Brasil are my favorite countries in Europe and South America so this cruise is a great way to visit both on one trip. I also will be visiting Argentina since I fly home from Buenos Aires.

I plan to be in Barcelona for several days before the cruise and might add on another city before Barcelona.

After the cruise I know I will be a few days in Sao Paulo. I like the city and always have a good time there. It's a big city, but most of the places of interest to me are easy to reach walking or by the metro.

I am looking into Uruguay as a potential stop, Montevideo looking to be interesting and very gay friendly.

Another potential stop is Florianopolis, the gay beach destination for Brasil and Argentina. I have friends I can visit there so it is high on my list.

I see it is your first visit to South America so if you have any questions, I might be able to help you as I have been there several times.

I look forward to meeting you onboard.

    Steven

  3. Cabin 11269 is an upper/lower configuration set up as handicap accessable. It has no furniture other than the bed(s), a dining room style chair and the built in desk with ottoman.

It has limited storage, only two closet areas each about 12 inches wide, 4 drawers in the desk consol and a small bed side cubby area.

The bathroom appears spacious, but it is mostly useless space taken up by the shower area. The actual sink area is about 30 inches wide with no storage space other than the tiny area on either side of the sink bowl.

I traveled solo in this cabin so the upper bed was stored up in the ceiling.

The cabin is directly below the water slide area so it is fairly quiet at night. During the day, it is another story. There is a big bucket in the slide area that fills with water and then dumps it right above the cabin with a loud thump as the water hits the deck.
