  1. I have just gone back and revisted some threads, this one included since I have two suites on hold for our October cruise after being paid in full for AQ.

I have recently read some negative reports about the dining in Blu and if there are recent guests I'd appreciate some objective feedback from any who has enjoyed Celebrity and has had their first or second (or more) experience in Blu.

We have recieved great comments from fellow cruisers who have dined there as a pay for option (which i dont think is really possible any more) and from some on this board who have enjoyed AQ and have gone back to it again.

The idea of Blu is a unique menu and over time there have been guests who have posted that they have been able to order from the MDR menu form time to time as an exception and that was my understanding of the venue.

While food is subjective, it seems there may be some service level issues in Blu that have created a level of concern for me. I recently read that one person waited an extended amount of time to have plates cleared and it seemed that at least one night was off.

Specifically with Solstice, what I am asking is how are others finding this venue in the past few weeks, are there sufficent staff to accomodate the increase in guests that follow quite a few price reductions and word of mouth to try this? Are there service issues with timing and temperatures of food placed for the guests that you have found more so than in the MDR? I have looked into the menus, and its not the selections that I am concerned with as food itself is so subjective and I have already decided to try it.

With a few things that I have not tried, AQ or a Suite, I have paid for two AQ and have two S2's on hold.

What say those who have some experience with AQ and can provide some recent and relative insight into how its doing. Is it stick with AQ or go back to MDR where it is perhaps much better run. I'm really focused on service.

    Thanks in advance...:)

  2. I think the cruise line is having a tough time this shoulder season filling the ships and that's why we are seeing some fantastic pricing opportunities. I am sticking with AQ too because I want to try Blu dining. If I did already have that under my belt, I would potentially take a look at the Suite since the pricing is so favorable that it bears taking a good look at just for the extra space. Unless of course like others who are so pleased with Blu and AQ that they would stay put.;)

  3. I really am starting to regret booking my first cruise with Celebrity.....I think life is too short to be worrying about what everyone else is up to........ I came on this site for imformation and ideas.... not to be preached to by what was stated above ' the better than the norm people'

Of all of the posts on all of these boards, you pick this post to stop you from thinking about a good time on your cruise??? There are just too many positive posts to dwell on;)

  4. In doing a quickie, I have found all but one of your comments on topics somewhat neutral, IMHO. The rest have been highly antagonistic, again in my IMHO. You need a cruise. ;) Do you have one booked??? If so which...we should try to change the subject.

  5. I am simply trying to make sense of this whole thing...late or not. I had 2 responses similar to the ones I posted removed/erased from the other thread 2 days in a row because IMO there was no repsonse to the logic I used so the posts were taken down....aka there was no antithesis because the situation is based in real life circumstance, not words on a blog. No one in their right mind is going to refuse their partner a sip of their drink if asked for.......but that goes against the black/white stealing is wrong in every circumstance and situation. The amount is a moot point...blah blah blah. Common sense and reasoning checked out of this topic 3 days ago.

If you had post removed I didn't see the original ones I don't think but I am just a reader... but like so many here, unless you agree with their particular point of view, they will hit the triangle and ask for your post to be removed cause they don't like you/and what you say. Kind of like the yellow triangle snitch. Countdown to elimination to begin....

  6. But stealing is stealing! Whether it is 50 cents or $50,000 or part of that drink or the whole drink. There is no situational drf'n here according to you and many posters on the other thread. If she takes a drink of your beverage purchased from the "package" she has committed theft according to many of you on this thread and the other thread.

You can't have it both ways...that is hypocisy....yes/no?

What? You are coming in late and saying what?

I am suggesting the whole idea of theft is off the mark and that its actually fraud.

  7. If she takes a sip and likes it and says she would like one for herself I would go to the bar and PURCHASE that drink for her. If I were to use my beverage package and get another drink for my wife then in my mind that is stealing.

Mr. Lucky;) (I wonder if you are old enough to remember Mr Lucky with the eyewink...)

If she takes a sip and likes it and says she would like one for herself I would go to the bar and PURCHASE that drink for her. If I were to use my beverage package and get another drink for my wife then in my mind that is stealing.

Why I can't get to a good place with any of the dialog on either this thread or the other one is a result of definition...Thanking you for this example to assist me to that end, the example to me suggests the obtainer is committing FRAUD and not THEFT. (and for those who don't get it, the caps are for emphasis and are not shouting:rolleyes:)

I might go and start my own new poll now about FRAUD with that idea in mind...Just Kidding, there is enough with just the two.:D

  8. Combine that with the general decline in MDR food quality and service and I am finding even more reasons to NOT get dressed up.

If I thought the food quality and service standards were so undesirable I hardly pay for Celebrity. Any cruise line has a ship to sail on, it's what's above the hull that matters. You have disqualified two major factors in choosing a line, all things being equal among mainstream lines in terms of price, I'd bet you an find a more relaxed atmosphere with equally poor food quality and service standards. It can't be the payout on Casino Slots that keeps you here.

  9. Sandi and Dianne - Is there any way to get both files in one block for future use? On Friday I went to look for a particular cabin and did not find it on Sandi's matrix. Since I knew there was an earlier file that Diane made I did think to go to the earlier posts and find that one, and I did find the cabin details I was looking for in the earlier volume. Perhaps label it Part I and Part II or something identifiable (they are yours, this is just my idea for nomenclature) for those who are new and come here and do not know about the original version. Thanks for keeping these versions current, they are so helpful!:)

  10. We went one night because we just needed a break from all the dinner food. The menu (which I don't have) is creperie style, and there are some nice creative salad accompaniments that look good and taste good too. Its a bite to eat that is satisfying and enjoyable.

The main dish food is not heathy fare IMHO, and I think if we were to do it again it would be to avoid the buffet during the day rather than the dining room at night.

Is it worth the $5.00. Yes, we did think so.
