Hiya, I'm having no luck with viewing the bridge cams. I've tried chrome, internet explorer and firefox on windows 10 and also my android tablet.
Any ideas?
Thanks

So it looks like UK passengers are paying more, is it possible for me to book through a US travel agent?

For missing the sailing at a port of call I'm inclined to agree. ;)
And those still in the mix after excluding alcohol-related will include folk who mis-remembered the back-on-board time, or at a change of time zone confused ship's time with local time or relied on the time shown on their phone/I-pad, or simply didn't allow wiggle-time for delays.
I have NEVER heard, thro Cruise Critic or anywhere else, and neither first-hand nor second-hand nor tenth-hand, of anyone on a private excursion missing a sailing. No doubt it's happened somewhere/sometime but you can be as confident as anyone can be that a tour operator will not allow you to miss a sailing.
JB :)
Thanks for all the replies, I guess this is what I wanted to hear :)

Are there any stats anywhere that shows how often or how many passengers are late to board and the ship sails without them? Just interested:rolleyes:
cheers

Hi all, I read somewhere that Princess were changing the way they charge for the internet i.e coming away from charging per minute.
Can anyone confirm if this is true and when it's likely to be implemented?
Thanks
-
What do the new 'packages' consist of on other lines and what is the likelihood that Princess will follow suit? I was wondering specifically if usage is based on the amount of data rather than minutes?
-
With the automated system, isn't it time to stop calling them tips or gratuities. It is neither one. It is a system for us to pay the help and not the cruise line. A gratuity is my appreciation for the service rendered. I don't mind doing that, but it is time to stop pretending it is something it is not.
Second that! :)
-
Tipping is indeed part of our culture; we tip for what we believe is a good service.

The ship excursions Are vastly overpriced and not needed in Norway
Ships excursions are always more expensive, I arrange my own but as I said in the original post my mum is unable to this. The cruise she fancies also stops in Helsinki, Copenhagen and St Petersburg.

Hiya, My mum is thinking of booking a Scandinavian cruise with FO, could someone let me know how much shore tours are likely to be please?
(She wouldn't be able to tour on her own)
Thanks

I think there are some examples in this thread.
I couldn't see any, only references to little doggies and the lady in front (who could have had a kilo of cocaine in her case) I'll look through again.
Thanks

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has actually been stopped in the Caribbean and what the consequences were? (excluding South American stops)
We have been once before and can only remember being greeted by steel drums and smiles!

I'm fairly foreign to Cruise Critic as I'm not much of a cruiser, but I have found it both entertaining and sad the way that people rush to blame the complainer whenever these posts pop up. In my limited time on this board it has happened over and over. Princess seems to have reached Apple-level adoration status around here.
Princess is a business. The captains and officers that some of you seem to be on a first name basis with are not your friends, they are employees who you are paid to be nice to you so that you'll book another cruise. And the fact that they were wonderful to you does not mean that they have never been unhelpful with anyone else.
Yes, some of the OP's complaints are a little tenuous, but if I had my luggage lost and my plumbing constantly malfunctioning then I would start getting irritated too... and most of us, once irritated, tend to blow small things out of proportion as they pile up. After a few days, I might even find myself getting mad that they didn't have my preferred type of tea.
And yes, a certain level of patience is required while traveling, and sometimes the complainers can be over the top. But Princess is not a $5/night hostel or a tiny shack in the depths of the jungle-- I think passengers at the very least have a right to expect basic, functioning plumbing. Is there really nothing you guys will hold them accountable for?
Maybe instead of jumping to the conclusion that he's a troll, or trying desperately to find holes to poke into his story (really-- a deaf guy can't work for a police department? He never said he was an officer), just offer him some advice on how to resolve the situation. The purpose of this board is for people to get advice on their cruise-related questions, isn't it?
It just seems like anytime anyone has the nerve to mention something that has gone wrong, or accidentally swaps the names of the ship, or, god forbid, calls it a boat, they are roundly dismissed and ridiculed. Not everyone has spent decades of their life cruising. Some of us wouldn't want to. Maybe try showing people a little basic respect and decency?
WOOP WOOP! well said :)

Princess told me they would honour a drop in price until my final payment
-
$310 for two people or $310 per person?
$310 for two of us- Thanks to the poster who quoted taxi prices; I've had a look at the hotel prices and I don't think I can do better than this. I guess I'll have to try my luck with Princess ..eek
Junior suites discovery
in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)
Posted
hey all I'm looking at the deck plans for discovery and I'm finding it difficult to differentiate between the colour key for junior suites and deluxe cabins. Specifically deck 8, (need to get new glasses) is deck 8 mostly junior suites?
