I didn't think of this as we've never booked a GGG sale stateroom. Thanks Biker19 and Twangster for your help towards my understanding.
-
Oh ok, that makes sense. Thanks!
-
Background if it matters:
I'm referring to the current Going Going Gone sale (GGS) for April 17 (Crown and Anchor access only) , April 18th and 19th all customers.
I'm Diamond Plus and I called the Diamond Plus customer help number.
I called yesterday to get the Crown and Anchor price for a stateroom that is listed for the current GGS. The representative said he couldn't get the price but a supervisor would let him grab the stateroom I wanted and make a reservation allowing for me to call in today and have the GGS price applied. This morning I called and the new representative told me that the GGS price was only for guarantee staterooms. I didn't argue. I paid the total non GGS price. I'm wondering why the first representative told me that I would get the GGS price on my specific stateroom if GGS prices are only for the guarantee stateroom category. Was I incorrect in thinking the price listed for the stateroom was for all staterooms in that category?

interesting thread. We are also on this cruise. We are disappointed that the news from RCCL came after final payment.
-
Even though it may not be listed, our experience has been that there is a house champagne (or sparkling wine) that is available in the lounges.
Thank you!
-
I don't see any champagne listed. I don't recall if it was listed on any of our past cruises but I know we were served champagne. Is this a new change for the DL or CL? Am I correct in assuming we won't be able to get champagne at the bars during DL CL cocktail hours? Thanks for all the input.
NY212 I am enjoying your report. Thanks for taking the time!

for only $2000 more I would definitely upgrade. It will make your celebration even more special. We are in a GS in May also but not at that fantastic rate!

Totally agree! In fact, I am so eager now that I have already started looking for which ports might be the ones on the Quantum itineraries! The article said that the cruises will only be from three nights to eight nights, that is quite short, so perhaps we'll have to combine some B2B, as coming from Spain, we would like to stay longer there.
Some ports might be Tianjin (for the Great Wall), China, even though I don't see that one too suitable as it is two sea days away from Shanghai and considering that cruises will be only from 3 to 8 nights it wouldn't make any sense. It is possible that these cruises call at the following three ports in South Korea: Jeju Island, Incheon (for Seoul) and Busan, I am sure that some of these three will be on the Quantum itineraries. Then, it could be possible that the Quantum gets to some Japanese ports such as Kobe, Osaka, Nagasaki or Fukoka.
Looking forward to sail on the Quantum of the Seas from Shanghai!
I love this move by RCL!
yes! We are excited. DH told me to book the ship as soon as I said China.

really like this tea also! I've never seen any on the ships. Perhaps put some in a Ziplock bag and bring it with you.
-
wow, so happy for you! Sounds like you've had such a rough time. Glad you found some good tenants. Hope this upgrade is just the beginning of blessings for you and your family. Have a great cruise!

fabulous! Enjoy your Sky Loft Suite on the Allure!

@Mse86 yes, thanks for the question to Russ! I'm also wondering. Particularly his Ash boards as we are thinking of adding one to our collection.

wow! Quite possibly the ultimate bait and switch. :D

fyi, just got off the Oasis and we are a family of 4.
Express Departure: 6:15 am
In Cab at: 7:00 am
Miami Airport at 8:00 am
Easily made our 10:00 am flights
No problems, no stress................
very good! Nice to hear this. We are a family of 4 and have a 9:40 flight from FLL off the Oasis. But we'll walk off with 2 weeks' luggage and all!
OP: sorry I'm not any help at all. I hope everything works out for you!
-
the Allure has a dance event in Studio B called the Glow Party. I believe the Oasis does also. It is a blast for people of all ages! We saw lots of families having fun.
-
Are children allowed there for breakfast?
yes, breakfast and lunch.
-
we eat there often at Breakfast. Muesli, cranberries, sunflower seeds, almond slivers, grapefruit, other fruit, etc…
-
Ummm excuse me? I rarely post are you talking to me? And if so what us your problem? I politely asked a question maybe you could be as polite!

A steakhouse without a baked potato is not a steakhouse at all.
Vote with your wallets and pocketbooks and express displeasure in writing!
The last time I went to Chops it was 25.00pp. The meal was delicious. The next time I booked a cruise, it was 30.00pp and they had taken the bone in ribeye and REAL cheesecake off the menu. I said I would never go back and i won't.
Now its 35.00pp and even another upcharge for a decent steak?
Tater tots in a dining venue some here describe as a Ruths Chris, Capital Grille type of environment. LOL!
Absurd.
yes. Hopefully the test run will start and end with the Navigator.

so funny that people get such different stories. I have a friend that works for Royal that says it makes his life MUCH easier when everyone does the automatic tips. Of course, the extras that come in are for him alone. The pre pay tips go into his account and his wife is able to use that at home.
very good to know! We always give are stateroom attendants quite a bit more above what we have already prepaid; additional tips as well to other crew. I always hope they are able to pocket it for themselves. (and/or share with their assistants)
-
OP, you fear Royal will be nasty. Please explain.
-
we have done 2 B2B cruises on the Allure. We never felt it was too long. It is the perfect amount of days for us; hence, 2 more B2Bs this year!

for a week this past December the starboard side FlowRider was out of service due to needing a new pump. They did install a new one and it was back up and running the next week. Could be simply closed or perhaps it's the port side FlowRider's turn. :(
Are the Going Going Gone Sale prices only for guarantee staterooms?
in Royal Caribbean International

Molly361 and Biker19, thanks so much! I did not know any of the GGG sale information you presented. I've written all the information down so I hopefully may someday take advantage of the GGG sale!
