  1. The Thomson Discovery is a perfect replacement for the Island Escape given time. once the Character of the ship has been established and still in its infancy personally I think it will be a brilliant addition to the Thomson range. had 1 or 2 niggles but that's nothing to the bigger picture, we could get used to this ship big time. For those thinking of booking this ..just do it ;)

    RR

We have not cruised since IE departed so was glad to see your post RR recommending TUI Discovery. We hope to have a cruise next year so gives us something to think about.

    Enjoy! :)

  2. This Island Escape forum has fallen apart since our very own Rebel Rouser has left... How about we start a petition to get him back in time for the Springtime re emergence of the I.E.... I am confident just one teeny weeny post from RR will start him on the road to his next 4000 posts.

I am sure a few names on here will coax him back.

    Hi all

Just wanted to add my name to your petition. Just a quick note to let us know you are okay RR! :) Anyone remember our Berwyn???

Thinking of all affected by the terrible floods.

    Take care. Mo. :)

  3. Agree. The OP should be on Norwegian Cruise Line Forum searching for Epic. This forum is for Thomson, Island Escape. OP not meaning 'Old Person' lol.:D:D

Mmmm! What's happening! Haven't posted for some time now so wondered if I was on the wrong forum! Haven't been cruising for a while so have nothing constructive to say. Just like to look in now and again. Hope you are well Jan. Where is RR??

    Kind regards to all.

    Mo.

  4. Mo, Ecko and any body else that used to post regular..you still there?

Hi RR and everyone else! :) Just looked in today to see what you all doing.

The weather has been so good that I really haven't been lurking so much!

Had 2 lovely weeks in Benidorm in June - first time there!

Finding Island Escape a little expensive from Belfast and can do better with hotel holidays. Looking forward to Tenerife in December. :D

Haven't given up on Island Escape tho' as my daughter loves it.

Great to hear of everyone's cruises. Sorry I don't have much to say.

    Hope all well! BFN.

    Mo. :)

  5. You're not alone Moto, we haven't got a cruise booked either and are badly suffering from withdrawal symptoms!!

We are waiting to exchange contracts on our house sale so don't yet know what dates we will be available, so whatever we book will be a last minute one. :)

Thanks JW. We're having a hotel holiday in June, so maybe after that we will look for something on IE.

Hi RR. I'm fine thanks. DH has had some health probs but is doing well now. :D Hope IE stays with us til we get another cruise!

  6. Where has everybody gone...Jan you still watching

    Moto ..you still there :D

Hi RR! Can't believe I just looked in today - first for ages- to find you looking for me!! Haven't been here as I don't have a Cruise to look forward to, so feeling a bit left out!

Seriously, its good to see all seem to be enjoying their time on IE. My brother and his wife go from Belfast this Tuesday. This will be their first on her. They booked before but were moved to one of Thomson's other ships. Hope all goes well this time.

    Where is Jan?

    Kind regards to all. :)

  7. The bloomers are drying on the line as we speak.:D:D

Downside, I just found out that you can't book a particular cabin withing 16 days of travelling. Doh! They don't tell you that before they grab the cash. Who's betting on the old lifeboat outside? Not to worry, we've got a good dog sitter at least and that's a weight off my mind.:)

    Jan

WOW! Jan! I turn my back for a few days and you've booked a cruise!! Hope you have a great time!

    Mo. :D

  8. Hi All!!

Thought I would just take a peek to see what is going on! :D

Whilst you were all enjoying the snow we were enjoing 25C! - not in N Ireland but in Tenerife. We had a lovely week there - plenty of R&R!

Still not sure if we will get a cruise this year but will keep looking in to envy all those who do.

    Mo. :)

    Clocks removed!! :D

  9. Just walked home from the club..Blizzard

    White out :D

Whilst you were all enjoying the snow we were enjoing 25C! - not in N Ireland but in Tenerife. We had a lovely week there - plenty of R&R! I mean of course Rest & Relaxation!

Still not sure if we will get a cruise this year but will keep looking in to envy all those who do.

    Kind regard to all!

    Mo. :)

  10. My pleasure.;) Welcome back.

Missing Mo, where is she? Lurking?:D

    Jan

Aw! thanks Jan! Yeah your right - I'm lurking! :o

Don't have anything booked for next year yet but do hope to be cruising. With the drinks package included now I don't suppose there will be any cheaper deals.

Hope you are all well. :D

  11. Saw this thread on another forum and thought it was a great idea but it would be better if it was Thomson specific. Best tip I saw was if you are on an inside cabin switch the TV to onboard camera and leave it on all night. That way when you wake up you'll know if it's daylight.

    Hi Ekco!

Thanks for starting this thread. I have really learned a lot from reading through all the tips that have been posted - not to mention the laughs we've had from some! :D I like the above tip as I we are in an inside cabin. I will also need to have a light on as I hate the pitch dark! Thanks to all for their input. Being our first cruise I don't have any tips.
